Is there a way in Maya to use a low poly mesh soft body to drive a highpoly mesh? Like use a bunch of cubes to simulate and then use that to deform a high poly object.

I tried this, but with a lot of poly Maya get stuck. If it was possible to use mash proxy instead of mash would not be a problem. It seems strange, because the polygons didn't seems that much to handle ( 730000).

Could you do this again, just using soft bodies for an example?

i'm afraid, i'm up to different tutorials these days. and as to soft bodies: there are tons of tutorials out there. good luck, graham!

This is an awesome video, I love your content uhr. So concise and user based

could you just make the repromesh softbody without having any goal weights based on the original dynamics? It seems like it is over to the top to run two simulations at once.

hey, this tutorial is from over 2 years ago. so, i don‘t wanna go back to that topic.

Set the ground plane in the nucleus solver next time.

Yes, but it would be a workaround, not applicable to non-flat surfaces.
