Hello sweet Wanda & Chris!! How wonderful to see your video on Maya Chan! We just booked this resort for December, on the Carnival Jubilee and we cannot WAIT to experience this lovely area. It looked like Chris was really enjoying relaxing in the hammock and that meal sounds delightful! I have a few questions: was there a bunch of seaweed for you that day? I know they say that is part of being there, and warn you about it very much in their writings. If there was, did it prevent you from going into the waters? Did you find anything that was gluten free for you to eat? Were the dancers there at the resort or was that back at port? We are really looking forward to experiencing our day there!!! @@NauticalNurseNancy Hi Nancy! There was no seaweed the day we went and we only went in the water for a bit. They also have a pool though. Their included lunch is fabulous. Everything was safe for me to eat since they have corn tortillas. Their service is very friendly and attentive. They never let your glass get empty. Great drinks! And their massages are the best we’ve had in the Caribbean. It is a very relaxing place. The dancers were in the port area. You can’t beat what you get for the money at Maya Chan. I have been there 3 times now and will definitely be back. I hope you enjoy it too!

No, Maya Chan provides round trip transportation for you. You just meet them outside the port area. It’s included in the price!

Definitely! It’s a family-friendly place. They have kayaks, and other water gear they can use. It’s a small resort so it will be easy to keep track of them. There weren’t many kids when we went though, but that may be different the day you go.

You can see in the video, it was pretty clean that day. No smell either. They really can’t control when the sargassum blooms happen. As of the time we went, it was nice. Despite that, it’s a great place. I’ve been several times and will return again.

We went in April 2024. No smell and beach was cleaned up by staff throughout the day. Small amts of seaweed floating and on beach. Not fancy place nor is it pristine, but you are warned by them in advance when you make reservations. The water was murky, but we used floaty in the water that was free. We had a great day. The service and food were a ten. Staff very personable and the drinks were the best! All staff work together and you checked on frequently. We took out twins age 12 and they had great day as well. The pool is refreshing and resort quiet and peaceful. The Buffett was the best food we had all vacation. My kids enjoyed numerous virgin drinks and shakes. Transportation to and from was smooth and easy. Overlook the seaweed and go!
