Roofing Without Experience!

Roofing as complete newcomers! Changing the roof tiles of the stone house was more challenging than expected, with walls that are not straight and the heat! But with the power help of volunteer Dave and the finishing off with my friend Paul, I learned so much and am proud of this little pretty roof.

We had a garden, two or three years in a row, where no fruit would happen after the flowers. It turned out that we had wasps that were killing the bees. You probably have to do something about that wasp nest.

I'm actually blown away about the progress of just the last week. Hard work pays off for you, now having a dry room for winter. Keep your sunny and happy mindset and never give up, as no challenge is to big, that you can't cope with. Congrats for the new roof, it looks amazing.

Hi, the ridge tiles were in bad condition and lots of tiles were porous and had cracks on them. I also need replacement tiles for the other roofs as you can't get them anymore. So if I touch the roof once, why not change them right away ☺️

The top of the dimpled waterproof membrane needs to be capped and secured to the wall. New roof tiles and solar panels are installed. Just need rain or hose to test runoff and drainage.

Mmm you could have board insulated and then roof felt for waterproofing and returned the original tiles , would be warm and cosy!🎉

Very beautiful roof, so when are you going to attach the gutters to the roof . It will also help with your water logging in the walls as it will take the rain water away

I’m glad you had help with the roof! It certainly looks nice and tidy. Im getting excited to see the stone houses finished. It will be like a mansion compared to your little cabin. 😊 I just watched, Mr & Mrs Adventure get their roof done. There’s was completely done in concrete then the membrane, insulation foam, and some clay and cement mix. I think the clay tiles come next. Yours looks similar but no concrete block in between the framing. I wonder why their are so many different roof treatments. I’ve seen some put up wood cladding above the beams then all the insulation and membrane. Will you be adding insulation from underneath the roof to help with climate control?

Did you know that you could replace your normal tiles with clear plastic ones if you can get the same profile tiles to let more light in without going to the expense or trouble of adding skylights. Just an idea.

Yes I agree she could change some of these clay tiles for the same format glass /policarbonate tiles they ,,,are easely available but they are costly...but worth it for the amount of clarity they will bring to the room...

Der Pilz könnte ein Maronenröhrling sein, den habe ich in Deutschland schon oft gesammelt. Wenn die Lamelle (Unterseite) geschlossen ist, also schwammig und nicht so fächerartig, ist er essbar. Nur zur Info, keine Verzehrempfehlung auf die Ferne 😅

Good work but the tiles hangover is a bit too much with strong winds probably they are going to be lifted...if it was me I will put some kind of underneath suport wether cement or wood frame .....

They used a mix to cement the edge tiles down
