Hobby can be frustrating sometimes, yes. All sorts of expectations you set for yourself (doing better at this section, that section,...) will eventually dry the eagerness when you initially start brainstorming the ideas. But take a step back occasionally, take a look at what you have made over the year, and have a rest! Allow your love for the models to come back before stretching yourself again. I have been a follower since you made that Superman with the laser beam attached to his chest years ago and you are incredible!

I can relate. I used to have so many hobbies and interests and then I just got older and they meant less to me, even though I would try to force myself to maintain them - ie my YT channel. I still enjoy my hobbies, but I don’t dedicate all of my time to them anymore. I would recommend you take a break and see how life is for you. You can always pick up your pencil again. ❤️

I feel this way too; it has been a long time since I have opened an empty page and completed any drawing, but even as I do everything in life, I think about it. On some days, just making color combinations of different markers and just filling up pages doing that, I can't stop, I don't want to, and I probably won't. All I am currently trying to do is make more time for it. Glad to see a new upload on KZbin after so long.

I'm sad for you that you feel this way, but happy that you won't entertain the idea of giving up. Art is a struggle because the whims of people shift like the wind, one day you're hot and the next people don't know you. But the number one person you should be doing art for is always yourself. Find time no matter what or it gets harder to start, the more regular you can make it the more you'll do and keep doing out of habit again.

Hi! It's been too long, and I appreciate the share of the struggle. In my humble opinion, as an amateur cosplayer, illustrator, and an aspiring fashion designer, I think you're struggling in a matter of prioritization. Personal art unfortunately isn't that high of a priority, according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. However, personal expression is still on the list, just much lower than basic necessities like food and shelter. If the people you surround yourself with don't approve of your hobbies, either get them to understand, ignore them or find people who do appreciate, we're all trapped in this blue bubble of oxygen and ozone, you may as well learn to live with it.Luckily, I had a strict Granny and if I even think of doing something in an inconvenient or dirty space I get war flashbacks. So I say: prioritize, take all the time you need to readjust life, then get back to us. As for quitting? If you invested this much time and effort into your art, is it really worth quitting? If you were running a business, yes I would say you should because of little return in investment. But it's your HOBBY! You're in control. So take as long as you need and get back please, you've been very inspirational and helpful in making paper scaled standees for my OCs.

Quit, this is the best you can do to move forward. I have been a paper artist for more than a decade. I did not want to quit for the same reasons you said in the video. But ending one thing also means start something else and find new hobbies / activities. When making art becomes a pain then you should just move on. You did all that, it's great but remember to live you life and enjoy the present. Wish you all the best

started watching just before you made the first Joker video the first character I completed was goku, 2020 the last character I completed was an optimus prime 2.0, 2021 2024 early december the last character i tried to make was froppy, I got frustrated and stopped because of so many setbacks that 3 year break was because school got tough, and in that time, i mostly drew model sheets, which is fun, but finding references for them is not fun I love this art form because it's so unique, but I dont think it's for me. edit : I hope you're here to stay

Unpopular opinion: there is no shame in quitting, or at least taking a long break! As a fellow artist, i can certainly say it's not healthy to have your whole identity revolve around your art. Please figure out who you are, what you like outside of creating. Stop for a while, speak to a therapist if you aren't already. You've gotta ask yourself: at the end of your life, would you rather have tried to make incredible art and had a shitty life, or have had a beautiful an meaningful life, with or without making art? To me, it's not worth people knowing my name, if i'm very unhappy doing the things i once loved. Quit. And contradictory, once you let go of the idea of you as an artist, often times you're free to explore art again in a fun, playful way, like u used to ❤ Good luck!

I see that you're not leaving, BUT, I want you to do what makes you happy. I want you to do what makes you feel complete. As an artists in my 50s, I stopped arting when I felt like you do now. I sold my comics collection, got married, have a family now, & make art when I want to. Stopping didn't make me happier either. I became happy when I found the right balance. You can't help, but to be inspired as an artist & that is perfectly fine. If making videos embarrasses you, don't worry about that. You make them when you can. Unless KZbin is your job, we're here for your videos regardless of the time frame between them. If KZbin is your job, man, you gotta get over that embarrassment. LOL The main thing is, do what makes you happy & don't worry about us. Your life is for you to enjoy.
