The execs have been trying to max out price per guest for years. They have succeeded. They would rather have a guest that comes in pays $142 plus $200 for front of line plus $75 for a single meal plus at least $100 in merch over a guest that pays $90 to get in and maybe $100 in food the whole day because they saved for years to make the trip. The low crowd level on a low price day is a quirk of Disney's demand-based pricing. Like most people, Disnet expects consumers to react to price levels, so prices are high on days when crowds are expected to be heavy and low on days when crowds are expected to be light, incentivizing guests even out crowd levels. The actual behavioral response is still pretty low, resulting in higher value on low price days (if you value lower crowd levels and shorter queues). This results in the mystifying situation observing in this video.

Where’s our magic carpet rides ? Two of our most beloved leading ladies aren’t in Disneyland or DCA! Why?!? Why did Star Wars and Avengers take positions over Belle and Jasmine????

Was Ariel swimming off the coast of CA? That’s why there’s a mermaid ride in DCA?
@mikeiseastmanАй бұрын
@desertnaturealliance Avengers Campus is a Californian tech campus modeled after such places in Silicon Valley. Tower of Terror was themed to the Hollywood Tower Hotel in Hollywood California. The Little Mermaid is themed to a seaside darkride that you'd find at pier-side parks in California. A French village set in the 1700's doesn't fit into California.

While I think that an entire Beauty and the Beast land WOULD be amazing, it doesn't feel right in DCA. Yes, I know it's slowly losing it's California vibe, but Disneyland is for the "traditional" IP, and DCA is for the modern acquired IP. Marvel, Pixar, Avatar. On that note, I actually feel like The Little Mermaid doesn't actually fit in that park. Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid should be in Disneyland. Imagine a Beauty and the Beast Land where Fantasyland theater is, and The Little Mermaid instead of Finding Nemo.

The fact that they created a dining area behind the Cozy Cones is great. But like many (though not all, by any means) things Disney has done lately, it feels un-themed and not particularly creative. The chairs and tables can be ordered from a restaurant supply catalog (and the tables are indoor, food court style tables unsuited aesthetically to that environment), likewise the umbrellas are "off the shelf." It is not hating on Disney to be honest about this. The area could have been themed as a highway rest-stop (given it's next to a highway themed walkway). What kind of tables and chairs would you expect? Picnic style wood furniture. There could have been a snoozing Mack truck instead of a wood wall. Or, the area could have been inspired by the era of the Cozy Cones with fun mid-century fiberglass picnic tables and shade covers. This is what we would expect of Disney...imagination inspiring stuff we can't see at our local shopping center. I don't hate Disney at all, I love Disney. But it's important to provide honest recognition of when they do an excellent job delivering on their legacy (for example, the Haunted Mansion queue looks to do that) and where they are doing work that doesn't meet the brand's expectations and feels uninspired or cheap.

I believe DCA has been one of Disney's parks with the most modest annual attendance. The one in Paris is lower, however. Even though parts of DCA have been gutted & redone since 2010, a lot of its basic bones are still obvious. Disneyland will always be my home, but I think there have been a lot of bad choices recently, and all the buzz about Tokyo Disneyland park being so amazing cant help. We just get an overlay of Tiana, unless Im missing some other huge, exciting news. I think cruise ships are a targeted market and just unveiling Tiana's overlay, and a new Haunted Mansion queue isn't a huge draw. Im sure Disneyland is more crowded because it is so festive right now, California Adventure, not so much. Also I thought the idea of having characters on the top of buildings was a great idea for Covid, but its not very cool or exciting now, same with the storytelling thing, its quaint, but come on, there is so much empty space around CA, they need a big stage with cool things happening all the time. A water show at night isn't going to get the crowds when there is so much offered elsewhere. I saw Epic Universe is testing huge flying dragon drones which is pretty amazing!

Avenger Campus is going away for good due to Disney being broken up and Uncle Sam taking away Marvel from Disney. No one will miss it.

No offense but does this video need to be more than an hour long?
@WindowtotheMagicАй бұрын
No offense, but stop watching when you’re done. Why do people always try to tell creators to do things a different way. It’s his channel. He makes the rules. Go make your own short videos, if it’s so important to you. The audacity is astounding.

You are seeing the effects of peoples level of trust in Disneyland and pricing or park theme content. Or it could be ABC media content and talking head comments like the view.

The Park looks devoid of happiness and spirit. Very Sad 😞
@seancatherall31Ай бұрын
To me, it looks like everyone is having a great time... It's only devoid of the happiness I would be having if I were there!
Cowboys, shooting arcades with guns and that terrible Davy Crocket??? TOTATLY a bad look and too violent for kids today. All the "western" stuff does not line up with today's "modern" Disney anymore. But "Deadpool"?...of course that is OK!!!. None of the stuff I just said applies to kids today to the ULTRA violent and mega bloody and gory Deadpool. Hahaha....oh boy. Burbank is REALLY messed up these days. (by the way I love Davy Crocket and Deadpool)

Nothing wrong with Cowboys and Davy Crockett and I will be pushing them on kids when I take over Disney because not only do I want them and purists want them, but I say that kids want them and will decide what kids want for them.

@@FreshBakedDisney If I ever build a theme park it will be on two time zones [mountain and pacific for example]. You will place your order on Pacific Time and the pick-up window will be Mountain and the food will be hot an hour later. 🤣😜😝 [man the more i read that the more i think of Alice in Wonderland]

disney is now catering to those who have disposable income, not the average working family. it's sickening how greedy they have become with ticket prices and lightning lane. then there's the crap merch, overpriced food and anything else they can grift. it's a sad "state of disney".

Disneyland park is meant for kids and the whole video is full of grown adults acting like kids. They should do a study on these grown adults with kids mindset.
@stanfordite1Ай бұрын
"You're dead if you aim for kids, adults are just kids grown up anyway." - Walt Disney Disneyland is not for kids at all. Never was and never will be. When I take over Disney I hope people complain that Disney is being run by child haters.
@stanfordite1Ай бұрын
@@VictorS949 It makes perfect sense. Disneyland is absolutely not for kids so said Walt Disney. When I take over Disney, I will be catering only to the purists and deciding what kids want for them, even if they complain.

As someone who has to pay thousands to go to disney from out of country, DCA is absolutely worth it. You locals are such spoiled brats who dont appreciate how good you have it
