The governor at that time was quite the ruthless politician... he saw a chance to boost his reputation for his upcoming re-election campaign, and therefore chose to get in the way of the trained responders in order to get a piece of the 'glory' of being seen as a hero. Those responders then had to worry about his personal safety on top of the tragic disaster that they were already dealing with. It clearly worked for him considering his successful re-election, and he continued to use that little girl for good publicity long after the crash occurred. She was still grieving for her mother when the governor had her on TV doing joint interviews with him. Source: I lived on Nimitz Hill at the time of the crash, about 1 mile from the site. My father was one of the medical responders for this tragedy.

Whats his name?
@KaaphabalaАй бұрын
@@january7665 I'm assuming you mean my dad, and not the governor's name since that is included in the video (Gov. Carl Gutierrez)? I don't want to name him publicly here because he has strong feelings about that kind of thing, but I will say that he was active duty stationed at the Naval Hospital and was part of their mass casualty response to the crash. He has talked about triaging and treating the victims as they came in... there were a lot of really horrific burn injuries.

The Governor was good at comingto helpsith the crash. Unfortunately I feel that the people inthe Easterncountries sre prone to being less than adequate at flying airplanes and adjusting to the aviation environment and skills required for adapting to the technology and navigation systems on rhe airplanes. They are intelligent people but between culture of thinking the w is alwYright a d never speaking up to Correct the errors of the Captain before it causes a crash or death if passengers. Also the FAA needs to make sure they make decisions on his to Prevent accidents and nit succomd tonmyths and leave things to others to make the becessary changes. Training and all 😮pilots being fully capable of soeakung English would be a hufe step in the right direction. Greg Feith is a great i vestigTir and should gave headed up the NTSB. Ge us very good at solving problems and making decisions that make flying safer.
