Sir why change in internal energy is taken as same in both cases though we know that in second case some heat is used in the expansion of the gas. Plz answer
@mayankchandel4678
@mayankchandel4678 4 жыл бұрын
Though its very late to reply but still here is the answer in case any new one needs an answer. First lets consider that we are not giving heat in the second case. So it is doing work just with its internal energy as we have not given any external heat. Now, as some of the internal energy is being used to do work, so to maintain the internal energy same, we give some external heat. Simple , internal energy is being maintained by giving external heat.

@@mayankchandel4678 plz tell me that in 2nd case how pressure is constant??
@mayankchandel4678
@mayankchandel4678 3 жыл бұрын
@@staymotivated3892I hope you know that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Here, we have considered that mass of the piston is m and there is not external force applied on piston. And we know that pressure is =F/A Here F= mg because there is no external force. The amount of pressure piston is applying on gas will have an opposite reaction. Thus gas will apply equal Pressure P back on the piston. Now again after expansion the heat we gave is utilised in work done so again Press will be same because mass of the piston is same and of course value or g is same and area is same . I hope you got it.. If not reply me.
@staymotivated3892
@staymotivated3892 3 жыл бұрын
@@mayankchandel4678 first of all thank you very much for such a huge reply No I got that y pressure is constant in 2nd case but y not in 1st cas
@mayankchandel4678
@mayankchandel4678 3 жыл бұрын
@@staymotivated3892 in the first case piston is fixed, so there is no work is being done by the system, hence the energy is not being utilised in any kind of work, but it is indeed increasing the internal energy of the gas in the container. That internal energy is causing more brownian motion( random zigzag motion of gases) and causing more Collisions with the container walls.. Which in in turn increasing the net pressure on the container walls. Thus pressure is not constant while in the second case work is being done, so internal energy is not changing and there fore no change in pressure.
