MY REVIEW -
The greatness of Mayfair, Puri can only be felt by being present here. Since long time I have always heard about it being always full and never getting reservation no matter how many times we tried. Their rates also go south like the flight tickets still they are always fully booked. This time we booked in bit advance and got the reservation in the last available room.
The check in and everything was smooth. People from the entry to the very last everyone is warm and cordial. Such a warm feeling it gives. The whole property is decorated in every corner and wall. Everything is really beautiful. The whole property has decor and greenery with sound of sea waves being heard from a distance.
We had the breakfast and dinner buffet plan and we enjoyed every bit of them. Both the times the spread was amazing and there was so much to offer that we always left completely satisfied. The best part was maggi in the breakfast which I never saw anywhere in even the best of properties around the world. Also they had several choices in the vegetarian dishes which we can seldom find anywhere. All the more everything in the buffets were simply delicious and tasty.
Initially i was disappointed with the room but then when I explored the whole property I understood that the whole concept is that of ethnic one. The rooms are really big and that's why they have only 2 room choices. We could see the beach and waves from our room. The bathrooms are also quite big with bathtub. I did not like the shower as it was not sufficient at all. Also the water constantly changed temperature during bath which made it very difficult to have a bath.
The property has direct access to the beach and one can easily say that they have a private beach. They have their people manage the beach and Golden beach is just next door. So you do not need to actually visit the Golden Beach by buying a ticket. You can simply enjoy the Niladri beach and enjoy seeing the Golden beach nearby.
Everything at this resort is nicely done. When u come from the beach you have wash and bath facility just upon entering so you don't have to bother taking the dirt with you to the rooms. They also have a 4 foot deep swimming pool with different pool for kids too. They also have full fledged Tata Play connection in TV which I have never seen in any of the hotels or resorts anywhere.
My sincere thanks to Chakradhar ji, Prashanta ji, Ashok, Jharana, Lipika, Bindu for listening to our needs at the buffet and promptly fulfilling them. Also thanks to Manisha ji for getting us the right type of tea everytime like the way we wanted.
Bit of annoyed with the reception staff named Soumya. He was different from the league of the whole Mayfair theme and service. Everyone went out of the way to serve but he always directed. Basically it was pain for him to do anything. Its like he didn't want anyone to come to him for anything.
Their travel desk is also up to the mark and not expensive. They can be highly relied upon. The room service and the dining during lunch takes time. That's probably because they make everything fresh and everything tastes top notch. Rest everyone is on their toes to help you and fulfil your demands.
