thank you so much for this review/tutorial. not sure why the down votes, i guess because of the quality of the recording, but the content makes up for it. Really appreciate it again.

I have a F500 and the wiring harness for a JLF but the connector doesn't seem to be next to the up, left, down, right connectors like it is on the F300. Is it just in a different spot on the F500 or do I need a different harness?

Thank you this, this was great. I have a question. I like the joystick the F500 comes with, but I want to change the color of the ball. Is it possible to just switch it with a sanwa ball, and keep the Mayflash stick?
@605freeway6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Just unscrew the base and replace the ball.

Hey there, love the vid. I'm new to stick modding and I saw that sanwa sticks have different types and I'm afraid I'm at a loss at what I should buy. Could you tell me what exact parts are you using in this vid? Thanks! I have a Mayflash F3000 as well. P.S. How does the sanwa stick feel compared to the stock mayflash stick?

Look into the MagicBoots adapter. You can get one for PS4 or for XBox One. You plug it into the USB port on the stick, and it mimics a DualShock 4 or an Xbox One controller signal. No need for an actually controller.

What kind of stick restrictor gate does the F300/F500 use by default?
@RetroPillowcase6 жыл бұрын
Mateo square
@EdSuavePerez5 жыл бұрын
The Mayflash f300 definitely comes with a square-restrictor gate with standard Sanwa Joystick, and you can definitely notice the difference when trying to do certain moves in fighting games that involves diagonal inputs, half circles, quarter circles and full circle inputs. Octagonal gates with added mods are a must.

question, is it possible to leave the wires connected to the pcb and soley detach them from the joystick itself? i was wondring because i bought a new joystick it didnt come with whatever that thing is to plug into the pcb or wires so i wanted to just detach the wires from the mayflash joystick and reattach them to my new one. my real question is how do i get those wires off that are attached to the mayflash joystick itself?

at 6:20 when you start testing the controller it looks like there is a delay to the input. Is that the case?
@blazinrada98327 жыл бұрын
No lag at all. It actually responded much faster than stock. I played other people with this and they notice too that I'm usually quicker on the draw when it getts intense. They had no choice but to upgrade theis as well. But saying all that it also comes down to you skill level and how fast can you adapt to the other player.

I see alot of people saying the Octagon is the way to go, it's cheap but I don't see the point? the square gate with the Sanwa is very nice and easy to hit diagonals. I have never had an issue doing QCF QCB motions on square either. What do you like about it so much, and would you say its worth the 5 bucks and the effort to get that stupid little clip off?
@eterra95856 жыл бұрын
Nope if you're using a square way and are enjoying it, stick with it. They're worlds better inside of 2d fighters and octagonal gates suffer in diagonal zones being smaller. They're really just for 3d fighters or people who are too inept to learn to play within the gate.

whats the difference between the F500 and the F300?
@blazinrada98328 жыл бұрын
First let me say that both F500 and the F300 I have no complains of the quality of the joystick that comes with it. I have the Sanwa Denshi 2014 Silent Joystick - 2nd Generation (JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK) installed on my F500 and while I had the F300 stock for a couple of weeks and the people who used it like it so much that they would not do any changes to it except maybe the octagon gate. You can remove the 1 piece square MayFlash Restrictor gate and put in a Sanwa 2 piece octagon restrictor gate. Its simple to do. There both compatible with each other They both have - Turbo and Share button - Compatible with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, XBOX ONE / XBOX ONE S , XBOX 360, PC and Android The F500 - -You can change the art work. - NO cheap plastic toy! Two pieces of metal panels (metal cover and metal base) increases the fighting stick’s weight for a solid, secure feel. -The left side of the joystick has more palm/risk space. If you have big hands this might be more comfortable. I wear Large to XL gloves and I found the F300 design made it comfortable to play for may hours with no issue. -There a compartment that conceal the USB cable.

question about the sticks do you have to have a controller plugged in to use them someone told me if you set it to xbox 360 it reads as a legacy controller and works without a controller plugged into it.

if you're gonna use legacy controller, then you don't need to plug the stick to the controller, but you still need the controller on

Hey great video, i was looking into buying this stick but also the f500 which is wider for better hand placement, do you think that the size of the f500 is worth the extra $30? Thanks!
@blazinrada98327 жыл бұрын
both are very comfortable to use even after 2hrs of battleing. They have metal top lair so they can take the abuse. the F500 you can mod the background art. I like them both!!! But I do like haveing the extra real state. But if you are not going to use it much I would go with the F300 and the first upgrade I would do is change toa octagon gate. I got alot of my mods on sale. I bet there a 4th of July sale going on now!!

If you swap out the joystick do you still need to have a controller connected to the fightstick?
@blazinrada98328 жыл бұрын
Yes, you still need to have a controller connected to both F500 and F300 -A SONY PS4 Controller is required when using on a PS4 Game Console, and a Microsoft XBOX 360 or XBOX ONE / XBOX ONE S Controller is required when using on a XBOX 360 or XBOX ONE Game Console.

Any difference in gameplay with the bigger actuator? Does it improve anything? Or did it take time to get used to it?
@LodanZark5 жыл бұрын
With bigger actuator reduces the dead zone area, which means you can input commands quickly but also increase the chance to input unwanted commands

I have a F300. Can you post a link to the 5 pin cable you used for the Sanwa stick? I can't seem to find it on FA. Thanks.
These are my first 2 joystick I ever mod. What I learn is all you need is a Sanwa Octagon Restrictor Gate. This can be easily swipe out my pressing down the 4 corners then pull the 2 parts away from each other then change it with the Sanwa Octagon Restrictor Gate. I got mine at arcadeshock.com for $3.95

don't buy the f300, I out grew it within a matter of 6 months, actually working the horse. Not gonna lie, I learned how to play MVC:I with it and the knock off buttons started to stick at around 300-400 hours. I then swapped over to Sanwa buttons and upgraded the Mayflash Joystick... at this point I'm roughly $160, and still displeased with it's size. I then dropped $170, on a Hori Rap N and haven't looked back. TL;DR Don't cheap out on your first purchase, because in this realm. You get what you pay for. for full mods on the Rap N just reply.

Octagonal gate is the worst for charger characters and it's less precise.
@jimbaby03366 жыл бұрын
why
@eterra95856 жыл бұрын
@@jimbaby0336 because the octagonal gate just sits over the actuators to restrict the sticks movement and give a more 'secure' feel when riding the gate. In a square gate all the zones for directions are equal at roughly 13% for every direction so finding down back is very easy. With an octagonal gate the diagonal zones are reduced to 6% so finding down back is trickier and can result in droped blocks. And on charge characters sliping out of down back charge is a disaster. In short octagonals are easier to use if you're riding your gate (something you shouldn't be doing) and square way gates are more precise once you understand how to use them properly. ie: Playing inside the gate.
