I've noticed the Mayflower APC only has the three strips of Velcro on the front panel. how secure is the placard on the front panel during movement? I am about to buy a Mayflower APC and the Haley Strategic D3 Chest Rig and it seems like the placard is going to have a hard time staying secured to the front panel even though it has the swift clips.
@ocabj8 жыл бұрын
+andychanny It's fine. The hook and loop is strong. But if it concerns you, then you should the side clips, as HSP recommends. Frankly, I stopped using the side clips because the hook and loop is strong enough and I keep the hook and loop clean. If you use your kit in the field, then run the slide clips for extra security in the event mud gets in between the D3CR and the APC and you're not able to clean it while on patrol or what not.
@andychanny8 жыл бұрын
***** Perfect! That is what I was wondering! I intended on using the clips. This has just been weighing on my mind ever since I decided to go with Mayflower. I was literally just a mouse click away from getting the Velocity System Light Weight PC but I really want to attach the Haley Flat Pack to the Molle on the back of the Mayflower. I didn't think the flat pack would stay put if I ran it off the VelSys LWPC due to it only being secured by the clips. Do you have an opinion about that?
@ocabj8 жыл бұрын
+andychanny I can't weigh in on the Velocity Systems compatibility with the Flatpack since I have not seen one in person. Images on the web don't look too encouraging, though.

What is the hook and loop on the back of the chest rig? Been looking for stuff online and cant seem to find anything. And will the clips that come on the chest rig work natively with the apc or so they need changed?
@ocabj2 жыл бұрын
The hook on the back of the HSP D3CR? If your plate carrier front has loop, it will interface with that. The APC has loop on the PALS webbing on the front. The clips work with the APC. This video was made back in 2015, so it's been a long time so I can't find the references, but HSP specifically cited the APC as one of the plate carriers the D3CR would connect to. I haven't looked at current production Mayflower APCs or HSP D3CRs, so you'll want to go check based on current production designs as things may have changed in the past 7 years.

Why do you de-shoulder the rifle when you are scanning? The point of scanning is to confirm that there are no more threats. Once there are no more threats then de-shoulder. But even then why rotate and put the butt over your shoulder and 4 inches behind your head? All that does is create more distance to travel to re-shoulder the rifle. I'm not picking on you, this is just one of what seems like hundreds of videos where I see people doing this. It may look cool but it just doesn't seem practical. But hey to each their own i guess...

mrtimjitsu I see this crap everywhere now a days. It's a ridiculous technique that is being taught to a lot of people. I'm not sure where this came from either. Same thing with pistols where after they break their last shot, the shooter quickly pulls the gun back and snaps his head side to side as if he is scanning. I've held a set of fingers on the peripherals of shooters I've seen doing this. None where ever able to tell me how many fingers I had up.
@TampaDE58 жыл бұрын
Romeo Santiago i believe it. most ranges dont let u scan properly.. but i dont think forming a completely useless habit is the answer. the worst is sometimes i fucking do that shit pulling the pistol back in to my chest... and i look and feel retarded doing it haha
@RomeoSantiago85418 жыл бұрын
Zack Sobel lmao, well Zack pulling the gun to your chest is not necessarily a bad thing. What I meant was when shooters snap that pistol back like it was on a rubber band after the prescribed string of fire and not really assessing. I feel that getting the gun out of your line of sight but in a position you can re engage quickly, i.e. Chest, is a good thing. It breaks the tunnel vision thing and allows you to see a bigger picture of what's in front and around you

@ocabj7 жыл бұрын
The larger plates don't affect rifle mounting in that smaller plates will ride at the same height. Shoulder straps aren't an issue on the neck. If I changed anything, I would ratio the plates so the back is as large as possible, and the front a size smaller. So in this case I would keep the large plate in the black and go with a medium or what not on the front. Just from a weight savings standpoint and to help a little with mobility.
