I have some really great friends who are gay and they know I'm homophobic but they treat me with respect and I treat them the same... the only people who get upset or mad with me for being homophobic are straight people lol. Your sexuality, identity, gender etc. has nothing to do with music and black metal because its above it, ghaal for example is gay and he is one of the most extreme vocalist on black metal stage. Huh, now we're venturing forth into the never ending pits of BM :) Deathcrush symbolizes the coming of The Second Wave of Norwegian Black Metal (Which fully exploded in the early to mid 90's). The inspirations came from First Wave BM bands. Bands whose sound was more blurry, cold, strange, or raspy. Like early Bathory, Sarcófago , Hellhammer and more. And nowadays there are countless of sub genres and varieties. I don't think any other genre of metal comes close to this variety in sound... Well, the production on Deathcrush is very poor, due to what they had to work with. But that was part of the magic that revolved around BM: It was mysterious and different than conventional songs of the period. Thus many second wave actually sought this blurry sound. To me, black metal is about strong emotions and deep thought. And a cold atmosphere of uncertainty, melancholy of explosive anger are great at provoking these emotions. My suggestion for the next Mayehm song is "de mysteriis dom sathanas" (The song). The album is to this day, one of the most highly influential 2nd wave BM albums to date. I think that this song has almost everything that is second wave BM in it... And the production is much higher, so you will enjoy the sound more.

Nor to actually react to it: Even if you just listen to it by yourselves, there is nothing wrong with that. Although if you seek BM with clean vocals, you could try Ulver - "Capitel I: I Troldskog Faren Vild " instead. It's more folk in nature and t his song has only clean vocals.

Ok cool! Just a little bit of history behind burzum.. it is a one man band, all lead by a man named Varg Virkenes. He was once bass player for this band (Mayhem) Varg and guitarist of mayhem ( Euronymous) who is also the founder of mayhem, eventually had a fall out wich lead to Euronymous conspiring to kill Varg. Varg caught wind of his plots through close friends who were friends with both euronymous and varg. Varg, being very paranoid about it all bet him to the chase and stabbed him multiple times murdering him in cold blood, he says it was self defense because if he had not done that he would have instead been killed, a chance he was not willing to take. Inthier early days of friendship they got up to all sorts of mischief, burning down churches! Alot if people say it was an act of satanism but Varg did not believe in neither satan or jesus, he is a strong believer of his norwegian heritage and gods (Odin) claiming that all these christian churches were built ontop of aincent sacrifical altars to odin, he decided to do his best to burn them all down! Very interesting history behind all this 2nd wave of black metal in Norway, definitely worth looking into, whatever you do. Do not watch the hollywood bullshit film about them
