I know I am late to the game but so so happy that I found this video!! I have the upper and lower case alphabet as well as the numbers and wished I could move the characters closer together. This is a game changer. Thank you!

I just got this today and quickly figured out to use a spacing of 4 between letters to make them closer but I did them one at a time. Brilliant to do every other one! Thanks for this video. I am a math person but easy to mess up as you’re going along so your chart is a great idea!

This is completely awesome. I did have to chuckle when you said remember when we had to count spaces in typing. Of course. I totally remember, but then I was thinking. Hope younger people aren't watching this, because all they do is click that little "center text" button on the screen and it's done for them.. (they might be a little confused).. haha I rather miss the difficult way of doing things sometimes, and sometimes I am very grateful for the ease. Thanks again. Great video. Can't wait to see what other videos you will have on this channel. One thing I am curious about is how this punch board is when working with the tab punch board. When I was looking into getting the tab punch board, I noticed a few projects where they used this board to punch out the word on the tab. Thank you so much for your clear explanation. This was incredibly useful. Getting the letters close together tipped me over the edge of buying the board. I did a Tim Holtz inspired hack to mine. Similar to what he did with his new shifting stencils, I used black soot distress paint to get into the nooks and crannies of the numbers. Wish I could post a picture.

Thankfully still here and it works! Hi Maymay, Just a tip. you don't have to remove all the letters when you used the second e in welcome. It will all align on the second punch. This is really good to know if you are doing Multiples.

So if I want to center the word I would pick a number further to the right then add 4 to get location of second letter - then add 8 to each of those. Or find center of board and count back 4 spaces for each two letters (like centered typing). Correct? I’ll give it a try - thanks for the inspiration!
