Mayor Denies Kanye's Role in Mass Appeal of Jordan Retros

www.sneakerwatc... - Previously, we visited big sneakerhead Mayor as he gave us a tour of his kick collection valued at $750k. Throughout the tour, Mayor discussed topics such as shoes that he holds dear to his heart, what shoe is valued the most in his collection and his own collaboration with Fila as well.
Surrounded by sneakers upon sneakers, this time around Mayor shows us his collab with the classic brand Fila and discusses the change of times within the sneaker culture. With the growth of Jordan Brand, Mayor also expresses that MJ may be the reason that certain brands such as Fila took a halt in success.
Sticking to the subject of Michael Jordan, Mayor then sheds light upon Kanye West and Don C feeling responsible for the popularity of retro Jordans. Although a strong fan of Don C and his work with fashion, Mayor expressed his disagreement on that thought with his own version of the #KanyeShrug.

The one thing I suggest to mayor, would be to get a dope jordan/hype beast section, I feel like a lot of people don't give him credit because he doesn't solely focus on the hyped shoes. I know he has most of that stuff, but he like hates showing that stuff.

My generation (I'm 20) basically killed off fila. Literally, in 07 to the beginning of 08, the shoe was fresh and a must have. Those were my middle school years and by the time I was a freshman in high school, Fila was looked down on so a lot of kids stopped wearing them. Even if you were to get on twitter RIGHT NOW and post a picture that goes viral while you're wearing fila, I guarantee a large majority of the comments will be clowning the shoes. It's crazy how my generation is really backwards. If it's not the most popular brand nor the most expensive, they try to clown it. They've been clowning reebok for as long as I can remember until the recent hype behind the Kamikaze's and the Questions.
