And estimated times are dangerous, 10 hours always sounds "do-able" but then you realize that's basically your whole day with few breaks. Anyway, in no way this is a copy, he really ranked these games and share the conclusion. While Mystic went rather for a vlog type, HairBear took it more like a documentary. The best of this video is that he mentioned platinum shouldn't be only about getting as many as you can, it's more about a reward for playing a game you enjoy. Trophy hunting for me is exactly about that, and there is nothing giving me more satistaction then taking a break after a nice platinum.

That intro is so relatable. While in high school, achievement hunting provided a way to extend the playability of a game since high schoolers tend not to have money for games, but have the time for them. Upon entering the workforce, these achievement hunters can buy whatever games they want, but lack the time they had in high school to play them. This is perhaps the most relatable first world problem a gamer could have.

I got my first platinum the other day. Never cared about getting trophies before. But honestly that feeling of seeing that platinum pop up was just the serotonin boost I needed. I’m still only really doing “easy” trophies and games I actually enjoy. But I’m still having a grand time.

I did 10 platinums in 10 days to close out 2020. It was fun and to this day one of the most memorable gaming moments in the past 15 years. I did Cuphead, Astro's Playroom, Concrete Genie, Miles Morales, Modern Warfare, Goat Simulator, Burly Men at Sea, Infamous SS, Spyro the Dragon, Infamous First Light.

Props for the 30 trophies! The southpark one is one I've done twice in both PS3 and PS4 and it's so easy to mess up and very daunting but it's the kind of game that no matter how tedious it can be, is too much fun. Seeing this video makes me want to delve into my back log because so many of these pull some to mind. Congrats and great vid!

This is a massive undertaking that would have driven me insane. I used to be a big trophy collector, but stopped when I realized it was interfering with my enjoyment of the game. It's such a terrible feeling missing a missable trophy and knowing the only way to get it is by playing the entire game all over again. Yet having said that, there is a certain addictive satisfaction in seeing those trophies pop that can sometimes make the game feel more rewarding. So I guess there are pros and cons to trophy hunting. Now I've reached a middle ground where I will only go after trophies if they look fun to attain. Because of this, I've only gotten two platinums in the past year, but at least I can say I enjoyed my time getting those platinums.

It is a terrible feeling knowing you need to replay an entire game for one mistake. It's the reason why I have one trophy left on South Park Fractured But Whole and haven't gone back because it requires so much effort for a simple mistake. With that being said I think the middle ground will often be where I find myself. I'll attempt to 100% a lot of games but if they're bs I'm just going to enjoy the game and leave it at that.

Play the Quarry that game will stress you out on how too obtain the trophies. It’s only a 8 hour game but it makes you replay the story a bunch of times. Maybe I did it the hard way but man that game burnt me out

I can't believe, that after all these years I finally found someone who shares my feelings about Game of Thrones. When my girlfriend forced me to watch it with her, I never really enjoyed it but wasn't really able to articulate why I'm not having much fun with it, while every other person on the whole planet apparently loved it. But you said it right there: There were just too many unlikable characters to really keep me invested and make me care for anything that happens. God of war 2018 made me trophy hunt. I had 9 platinums in my PS3 and PS4 era. But once I got that platinum I went crazy lol. I now have 54 in total (2022). Ragnarok was my last platinum.

Mystic is the only PlayStation dedicated channel I stay subscribe to. Been watching him for 3 years now. The only reason I don't do the 30 plats in 30 days thing is that it is mostly people abusing games released with simple platinums just to get you to buy them. It does suck when games don't have platinums. I've wanted to get all the Mega Man games since I grew up with them but with the four collections of like near 20 games you only get 2 platinums. Spider-Man is a good platinum. It was my first platinum. I got it back in 2020. I got the platinum for a 2nd time back in August this year. I recently made a new account just to stream every platinum I get so I will be getting the platinum a 3rd time. :p Starting over is kind of annoying considering some of the platinums I already have take 35-50+ hours. Such as AC 2, AC Brotherhood, Days Gone, Jedi Fallen Order, Weird West, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part 2, UFC 4, NFS Heat, Nioh 2, Uncharted 1 2 and 3. The worst platinums I will have to get again are Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. I've platted Asylum twice and City once. Platting City took me forever because of the combat challenges. I'm going to regret having to do them again. My hardest platinum by far that I'll have to get again since I didn't cheat to get it like most was Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Beating that game on Master is so annoying. :p It is actually hard to beat on Master despite being a simplistic game.

You're 100% right there are so many titles that are literally made to get a quick and easy platinum that you pay a few bucks for, it's gross and thankfully PlayStation finally seems to be addressing that now somewhat. I've heard Kena is brutal, used to be simple but through an update got really difficult I believe.

You could beat the game on easy, save right after beating the final boss and then make a new game on Master and load your save from easy and get the credits; it would think you beat it on Master and pop the trophy. XD

I also had that Stick of Truth panic attack when going for the platinum, it was for a missing clothing piece that I did collect but when I saved and quit the game it didn't keep the items upon reload. Thankfully it wasn't a missable.

A story I have with achievement hunting is that when I got gamepass, games that I would complete to like 74 to 80% on Xbox I would just get board because there would be something new or a little bit different. I'd recommend not getting gamepass if you are hunting. A good reason not to get it is because when you open a new game it sits in your profile at 0% and they add up over time, and I mean like A LOT.

As someone who usually pulls in 10 plats a month, it can be a massive drain. I’m a believer that if a game takes you 30 hrs to complete, it shouldn’t take more and 133% of that time to platinum (so 40 hrs). Some games have very well designed lists, and everything happens naturally. Other games require some of the most obtuse requirements that no one would want to do normally or are a massive grind (like getting MRP in Ace Combat 7). Kudos on the challenge, I would never do it. Keep playing what you love and the plats will follow.

I am in the same boat, I don't want the platinum experience to outweigh the actual game. I'm happy to go somewhat out the way but too far ends up effecting the game itself. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!

Good on you for choosing Grim Fandango as one of your games, that one's such a unique experience! I don't think I'd ever have the time or motivation to do a challenge like this honestly, even as someone who loves going for 100%. But you might have inspired me to pick up a couple of games I've yet to complete!

Grim Fandango was spectacular, such a great experience! It's definitely a whole other beast this challenge but definitely recommend picking up and playing some of these games or adding them to the dreaded backlog, they're good fun!

You have definitely peaked my interest with your content over all great video my only complaint is the random game footage in-between clips was kinda annoying cuz I'd look away you would start describing something as an absolute classic or a visually stunning experience if look back to see a game a really like ans was excited to hear you talk about only to have you then say some other games name a hard cut to that but over good vid and can't wait see more
