My wife and I just recently purchased a set of Bravos XL washer and dryer combo. We were very nervous after reading all of the negative reviews and thought we made a mistake. When they were delivered, they performed just like the reviews, they were unbearably noisy. Since we have a second floor laundry room, our washer was in a pan and we realized the part on the bottom of the washer was rubbing against the pan and we removed it. Now the washers are quiet and we are very happy with them. I used a decibel meter and the peak decibel on the washer during the wash cycle hit 67 and averaged around 55. Normal conversation is in the 75-80 range so these are under what a normal conversation is.

I have a bravo it 4yrs old now needs computer, only thing I can suggest is get the extra warranty , it says 10yr warranty, onthe the motor,and tub,that's it

I bought the Bravos xl steam to replace my 5 year old front-load washer, which was very noisy, smelly & jerky. But it cleaned better than the Bravos top load HE- I wash most of my loads on the high water setting- otherwise there are some items that have dry spots- water doesn't even fully wet some larger items. I miss my old maytag washer with the agitator.

This washer doesn't seem to wash very well and stopped working for me after only 2 years ...i had to take apart circuit board in control panel and wipe off corrosion...steam gets in an corrodes the components...it's rather anoyying considering how much I paid for this machine. Expect to clean or replace control panel every few years.

We just got this exact washer, it's great! Cleans great, yes a lot less water and its Very quiet. I have to check on it to make sure it's on. 😃 It's wonderful for our king size bedspreads and quilts! No more going to the laundromat to wash those larger items. YAAAAY!

Came with the house we bought, was brand new, did make that lovely noise, thought it was broken but nope that's normal. Most important thing, use 1/4 the amount of detergent you think you'll need, anymore and your going to have crusty detergent spots left on your cloth like 99% of 1 Star reviews of this washing machine. It's a true HE washer so it truly uses very little water, very little detergent/oxy and even less fabric softener (where those crusty spots come from if not detergent when your done washing). Great video! Also only use Deep Water Wash for actual soiled (muddy, baby food imbedded/ to blow out diapers) clothing, anything less is just overkill.

we have had a set of these for just past 5 years now and we love the way it washes and it was shortly after we got it that we got hit with bedbugs (one of the kids brought them home with them from vacation from a hotel and this machine with the steam technology is one of the best defenses against them as it will kill all eggs and larvae with the temperature but regardless of that it has always done a great job on cleaning our clothes and when you combine it with the steam dryer wrinkles are no issue anyway after 5 years and going through a 15 year old that believed that just because it had a tub that was bigger that you had to stuff it like a suitcase on every load we thought it had finally given up on us last week and come to find out that Maytag has made this washer the simplest to rebuild the motor that it is easier than changing the oil in your car so I was able to fix our washer for less than 100 bucks and in less than 10 mins the hardest part was unhooking it and laying it down so in my personal opinion I will never get rid of my bravos xl steam washer and dryer I will get the extra parts and store them and never have to buy another washer and laugh at all the rest of these people when I see them spending all this money on junk machines when I see them buying them at Lowes all the time if you don't get yours to work right your probably not using it right in the first place the loud noise that comes out of these machines is because they are build on commercial technology and that is heavier duty that will last longer by the way.

The noise is because u need to raise it up the motor is hitting the pan that catches the water in the bottom. If you screw out the legs on the bottom to make it higher, the noise goes away. Same thing was happening to mines.

if you reduce the spin speed, it the clothes wont wrinkle your clothes as much. if you put them in the dryer though , that will take care of it.

Figured I would update as I have had mine for 5 years now with no problems (nice 10 year warranty). The Bravo XL Steam Washer and Steam Dryer are commercial grade. So the washer noise is due to the higher grade parts and components. My washer was never as loud as this video, but its a little bit louder than other washers (I kinda of think the noise means it is really working hard to clean my clothes.....LOL). My laundry is on the 2nd floor in an well insulated room, so maybe I don't notice it as much. Also, I see some comments about the steam in the washer. Tje steam is for killing germs. That is the purpose of it in the washer, not for tough stains or to clean clothes better. In fact, be careful because it is really hot steam and can wear out your clothes. I have only used steam for linens and towels, so that they are sterilized. One thing I do agree that is great about this washer is there is no agitator in the middle. So, it is far less wear and tear on clothing and you only need a small amount of soap. Great review.

Typically how much water fills the tub? I have a new one but it wasnt used in the first 9 days so they wouldn't give us the warranty for it... It doesnt work right if I fill it completely. And sawdust left over on clothes doesn't come off.

I had a Bravos XL 300. I hated it. It chewed up my comforter, towels, and t-shirts. Eventually it became louder and louder on the spin cycle. Eventually the machine had issues with the spin cycle ...leaked and smelled like something was burning.

I just got this machine, I liked it until I washed soccer gear that are on laundry belts each an when I pull the gear out when the load is done the gear is still dirty! I end up having to separate all the gear off each belt and re-wash everything separate which defeats the laundry belt. What am I doing wrong? It's making more work

+texmextu2 They've always soaked for me, just not really SUBmerged. However, if you don't like it then just use the "bedding" setting and it'll use more water. It senses by weight as well on how much water to add so... if you can trick it that way somehow?

I have to disagree with the negative affects of this model. I have the same one and it is very quite. As said in a previous comment, I needed to check that it was still running. As for wrinkles, I mean, come on, isn't that what the dryer is for. In fact, with the matching dryer, I have had less wrinkled clothing. Haven't tried the sanitize option yet, but so far, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Good overall demonstration, I just thought that it was showing to much of a negative, due to it's price.

I have this washer. I think I bought four years ago and I didn't pay that much for it. Mine isn't loud and I do wash every day. I have not had any problems with it. Of course no washer is as good as they were years and years ago. The deepness of it doesn't bother me but I am 5'11.

Just got mine and will be returning it.. Cons: 1) Not enough water to clean clothes. Clothes barely got wet depending on how much clothes I loaded. 2) The strength of motions are so weak so the clothes dont seem to be getting washed. Best way to describe it All bark no bite. Note: Always use the Bedding setting if you want more water. The Deep Water wash was also another setting that seemed to have more water. 3) You can't put a lot of clothes or the machine will struggle and in my case shut off. Pros: 1) Spinning cycle was quiet and efficient. 2) Button panel is nice and lite. 3)Oxi cycle feature is a nice addition to the wash. After using this machine, I'm definitely missing my front loader they wash a lot better.

I have this exact model but i find that the little bit of agitation doesn’t actually clean the clothes well. My father’s clothes are heavily soiled due to his line of work and washing his clothes in this machine has been a nightmare. And the clothes come out almost as dirty as they went in.

I have this same machine and I hate it. With a large load, such as bed linens, there are dry patches on the sheets at the end of the cycle. Not enough water to get the whole load wet. I usually wash it twice, hoping the dry patches will get wet during a second wash. Not economical, not efficient and noisy.

Has it always made that noise or did it develop over time? I have the same machine and it's only 2 weeks old. I couldn't believe how little soap you used, your clothes must not be all that dirty. I use the lowest spin speed to keep the wrinkles out of my clothes. I've been reading many reviews on different HE machines and they all have one thing in common. There isn't one with all positive reviews. HE washers should've been exclusively for areas with drier climates, not areas with normal precipitation.

Teuhtli Fajardo you need to balance your load a bit, it's auto balance pre wash can only do so much. Also you should make sure the tub is level before you load it.

Apparently there's a nut on the bottom of transmission that comes loose and starts to tear n2 the plastic housing guard and finally breaks causing complete machine failure . May tag didn't put lock washer or locktite on there machines😳😟. Lowes replaced mine w a new one that ... Guess what it had 🤔 locktite already on the transmission bolt to keep the problem from happening . New one has worked light a champ since I posted last 👍🏻

A quetip and some rubbing alcohol to clean off corrosion usually does the job. It will do this about ever year or two after. I hate my machine. It's the most problematic one I've ever owned. 10 yr warranty barely had two yrs before corrosion issue started ...but it is a cheap fix if you have time to take apart control panel every few years 😂

You must have very soft water to use such a small amount of detergent. I have very hard water where I live. So I use a normal amount of detergent, as for a traditional top loader.

The Bravos series washing machines have the plastic piece on the top and bottom of the drum, if you raise the top up and remove the plastic cover that is clipped on with a hose attached to the back you will see two plugs in the top of the drum, or atleast it looks like plugs but you have to drill them out and it will be full of water, the bottom is the same way. That water causes the washer to not balance out when spinning and the washer will eventually be walking across your floor when spinning and also causes the motor and seals to go out before their time!!!! You have to pull the drum before you can see the plugs. top has two and bottom has four plugs. if you will drill them out the washer will run alot smoother and last longer!!!

If it does not say Newton Iowa, then it is not a Maytag! I have a Maytag A810 washer and gas dryer from 1981, that has had no repairs in 36 years! The only thing I did was clean the lint out of the of the dryer! My Maytag gets a load of laundry done in 30 minutes!

Dude! Nice review! Check out my videos,"Whirlpool Cabrio 2015." I'll show you how to bypass the lid lock on most of them. The magnet you use has to be strong enough for it to work. The steam option works really well with whites and anything that might have stains. Always pre-treat any stains though. The beginning of the cycle is load sensing. It determines how much water to use by how much the clothes weighs. If you want a decent amount of water for your smaller loads, select deep wash/water option. It won't fill the tub up on regular cycles. Unless you select a bulky items cycle. I would love to see you do a load of towels with the lid open. Thanks for your time!

Have these..I HATE THE Washer!!! It doesn't NOT clean your clothes it only fresh them up!!! It's garbage. Ruined clothes. Left them dingy with odors. Stopped working right and I called the repair (thank goodness for extended warranty) people. Mother board was bad, intake water valve bad & one other computer board problem (on a new machine). After a month of waiting Lowes sent me a check to do laundry. Two weeks later they tell me they can't get the parts so they buy the machine back from me. I was delighted. Bought me a LG top loader with an agitator and turbo wash for less. One load in that LG baby and my clothes were clean, no longer smelly or dingy and my brights were bright again. The Maytag Bravo is a machine you'll regret buying.

Everyone at the local appliance company owns Speed Queens. If the purchase was up to me alone I would have purchased that instead. These do look nicer though... maybe I paid for style? now I feel like a machead.

Notice how the clothes barely even move- the washer leaves many soap stains, does not remove dirt or hair either. Very disappointing considering maytag used be known as the most durable and best at cleaning washer

Tainted review! It's a great washer! It's no louder than any other washer we have purchased in the last 20 years! The center agitator is great! It has numerous wash cycles with different agitator cycles. My wife even stated that it has produces the cleanest results of any washer we have purchased in the 20 years! Too much hate on this washer. I believe it orchestrated by the imports! This is quality, American made quality. I've come from LG washer crap. This is the real deal!

The model he reviewed didnt have an agitator? What model do you have that is quiet and works as we were just at lowes and my wife asked the sales guy what the largest top loader they had was and I believe it was a bravos. They have an agitator and non agitator model.

BEWARE! These Maytag see-thru lid top loaders are terrible! They are direct drive and they are deep... combination for disaster. We installed in laundry room with a new overflow pan underneath, on the first spin the case of the direct drive motor ground down the fins on the overflow pan and put holes in it. That means it spins within a 1/2" of the floor. The most horrible sound. Returned 2! Bought the 855 one day and the 765 the next day and they both did the exact same thing after adjusting feet. Not to mention that when you select a cycle it shows a time that is NOT accurate to complete the cycle. The washing machine has to sense and adjust over and over again until it will drive you crazy waiting for your clothes. A 55 minute cycle can take well over 1 hour 15 minutes.

This is what separates what use to be Maytag commercial duty and home products. Whirlpool made a cheaply manufactured bet that it will operate until the warranty runs out and then.... Whirlpool's guaranteed obsolescence. A Whirlpool now lasts on average 3 to 5 years. Thankfully Speed Queen (Alliance) still manufactures their washers and dryers to withstand hard use.

I hate this washer. It does not wash. There is barely any water which leaves some of my clothes coming out partly wet in some areas and totally dry in other areas. With that being said the dry part obviously did not get washed. It's a total joke. You would think after waiting for 1 hour your clothes would be clean.. well think again. I agree with all the other reviews here that say their clothes does not get washed because there is not enough water to even wash them. I would not recommend this washer to anyone who wants real clean clothes. Stay away and buy a real washer that washes. Wished I did my research and read reviews before I bought this.

Oh please the noise it makes is nothing compared to the THUNKA-THUNKA of the now vintage center post agitator top loaders. And the more expensive models make less noise. Its not built like a rock. Theyre built quite cheaply

It is a terrible machine. It destroys clothing. All my new clothes have tons of fuzz and pilferring on them. They came out looking like old clothes. I hate this thing and would never recommend it to anyone. I tried cleaning the machine with affresh and the immediate load after cleaning it was worse. It is such a waste of money I have never had a washer so bad. There are only two of us so the washer is never over loaded it is just a very bad washer. Google the reviews before you buy it which I failed to do but after reading them I know that was my only mistake.
