Having trouble with my handbrake switch. It won’t turn the light on in my dash when the handbrake is on. Overall my issue is I can’t open the aft… any suggestions?

I've never replaced the handbrake switch but it should be a simple. It's located at the back of the handbrake lever but you need to remove the centre console plastic tray to get at it. There should be a large plastic thumb screw (about 30mm in diameter) within the tray compartment directly behind the handbrake lever. Unscrew that all the way and then the whole tray should lift from the back to clear the machine screw, dink backwards slightly to clear the front console and then lift clear, juggling it past the handbrake lever. Test the switch, it should be open circuit with the handbrake fully off and closed circuit with the handbrake on. If the switch is working and the handbrake is working have you checked the dash light hasn't blown? I hope this helps, if not let me know and I will do a short KZbin video on it. Stay safe, ICAN, cheers, Schnuz.

@@Schnuz help much appreciated! Ended out just having a bit of corrosion on the contacts of the switch. A bit of a rub with an emery cloth and it all works fine now! AFT is up in the air!
