Hey guys, in this video we show you how to remove and replace spark plugs on Mazda CX-7 with the 2.3 Turbo engine. It is not very complicated to remove and replace the spark plugs but you will need to do some disassembly such as removing the intercooler. Make sure you replace them on time or it can damage this turbo engine.

Great video helped me a lot, one thing though they say iridium plugs should not be gapped, THIS IS NOT TRUE, check your gap when you get the OEM part number plugs, ( I used NGK plugs and coils ) then use a wire or other type of gapping tool that is safe for iridium plugs, so you don't ruin the tip of the plug, I ordered plugs, installed everything and it would not start, I assumed the gap was correct, it was not the new plugs were gapped at .024, I adjusted the gap to .029 ( manual calls for 28-32 ) re-installed everything, and it started right away- lesson learned !

@@blakeb9964 its tricky. So try to pry on the the black piece inside silver ring gently if need be take the ring off. Once that's done u can see the lightbulb. But becareful putting new one use sterile gloves it will burn out if u do not with hours lol.

Hi Buddy, Thanks for the video very helpful. I have a question wondering if you could offer and suggestions. My 2007 is giving me hesitation on acceleration only not if I put in neutral and press gas. My Guess so far is Mass air flow sensor or coil pak/spark plug. How do i test if I have a bad coil pack? Thanks for your help in advance and thanks again for the videos

How about telling us the gap on the plugs? Might help.The manual says .026- .032' Never saw a range but usually a definite gap.

I believe they come pre gapped because they are iridium

do you have to drain coolant before? also the 2 little hoses would it be ok to unscrew the plastic part from the metal intercooler instead of unclamping and removing hoses?

Coolant always drains back to radiator and overflow just make sure car engine is cold

See if you can use better wrenches and sockets and forget about those Chinese cheap made ones.
