Mazda RX2 13b turbo (genuine)

While Grass Roots Garage was down at HYPER Coatings and Automotive we sat down with 'Drax' to hear about his genuine RX2. There were only 200 of these cars brought into Australia so it is definitely a rare sight!
The car drives beautifully on the street.... until he floors it! The YLD AZ Rotary built 13B turbo goes from mild to YLD AZ (see what I did there?!?! 😂) before you have a chance to reach for the Jesus handle! The aftermarket seats hold you firm & having Drax at the wheel there is never a concern, Drax has been around fast rotaries since the 90's!
Before Rotary Revival Drax made a post about some bright pink wheels he was going to run & I thought he was joking!! Not so! It's always great when you meet people that enjoy having a laugh! At times I think we all take life a little too seriously!
Drax is chasing 9's & we are planning on being there to film it so stary tuned for epiode 2 of Drax's beautiful RX2!

I've seen a few series IV Rx2s in my time. A red sedan on Church St. Parramatta, and there was one featured in a 1990s edition of 'Fast Fours and Rotarys' which was Kawasaki Green in colour with a 'Munch Munch, Pistons for Lunch' sticker on the boot lid. I believe it was Pac car. I remember also seeing a forest green coupé in Unique cars, but I think that it might have been a grey import example.

Love my "S4" RE Capella, it's a bit rough, but knowing it is genuine, I don't mind so much.

808/ RX3 style thing. What makes this instance more confusing is that the first three series of RX2s had the dual round 'afterburner' style tail lights, while the series IV has the same 'dog bone' tail lights as the piston powered Capella.

In Australia, only the early Rotary engined Capellas were called "RX2", later on, that name was dropped and simply called RE Capella.
