A really good review. Great to see you drive both the auto and manual and in different trims. Not many have reviewed the GT trim so your video was very helpful. I got my first Mazda 2 new in 2011 (auto; Neo trim). Loved that car. Traded it in when my husband gifted me the 2024 Mazda 2 (auto; GT trim) approximately 2 months ago. It's taken me some time to get used to all the bells and whistles, and the accelerator felt strange to begin with but now I love driving it. I did consider other subcompact vehicles (Suzuki Swift, Toyota Yaris, Kia Picanto, Mazda CX-3, Kia Stonic, and Hyundai Venue) but nothing could beat the Mazda 2 for me. I love Mazda's approach to tech, they are well built, capable (people underestimate the 2), look great, nice interiors, and have great driving dynamics.

Wow. We average 6 - 7.5 l/100km in our 2012 Neo manual (with >200,000km on the clock). 5 speed only... so the engine is revving at around 3,000 rpm at 110 km/h.

Our Mazda 2 gets rear disc brakes but damn it is expensive. You could get a chery tiggo 7 pro for the price of a Mazda 2.

try going past 100,000kms in a cherry. or even close to 180,000 that i have on my mazda 2 without any repairs. Till then you'll have to buy a another chinese crap.

@victor070 only time will tell. Right now our Mazda 2's problem is just the loose cover for the shock absorber and the noisy brake pads. Would probably have to replace all 4 disc brake pads. 2017, which is around 7 years now and it's holding up quite well. We shall let the risk takers test the cherys.

@@Dongzzzzzz Front pads just cost me R395 [ 21 American dollars ] for a set. Changed them in 20 minutes. Havent changed the rear yet but so far so good for me

Whistling break pads while still new was a dissapoiting for me. Cracking pedals sound annoying too

I cant stop laughing! Over 30k for that dinky thing. mazda are kings of madness. If only they were as good as they think they are, mind you they are doing the mercedes of Japan thing when it comes to shafting customers so yeah.

Another burst of laughter when I hear drum brakes on a car that sells for over 30k. And 7.3 l/p100kms.It's really incredible that mazda think they are premium. I think it's closer to lada.
