I’ve seen those videos. “Here’s five cheap “mods” that aren’t interesting or helpful and three of them are the same thing on different parts of the car.” I didn’t want to be that. I’m sure some people feel that way about this one, but I’m glad it helps most people. Thanks for watching!

Any chance we can get tutorials on any of these sweet mods? The orange LED & knob mods look particularly interesting and fun. I'm a complete and total car n00b, but I own an auto 2012 Mazda2 in white, extremely similar to yours. I might keep the long antenna because a.) I don't want to screw it up and b.) i think it makes it look like a cute little dune buggy! Thank you for these, seriously, incredibly helpful.

Have you ever thought about sound-deadening the 2? I have always hated how mine is too noisy at highway speed, it makes it really uncomfortable to listen to music. I think there should be enough space behind the dashboard and the wheel arches to put some isolating material. I will have to take a closer look.
@HiroshimaSpirit
@HiroshimaSpirit 6 жыл бұрын
Sound deadening adds weight, so no. Judging by the rest of the mods I’ve made to my car, road noise is the least of my worries. If you’re just using yours as a daily driver, go for it if you think it will help. 👍🏻 I personally don’t have a problem with hearing my radio at highway speeds.

@HiroshimaSpirit
@HiroshimaSpirit 6 жыл бұрын
Never needed to change one on a 2, so no, I don’t know where the fuel filter would be. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s somewhere near the fuel tank or in the engine bay just before the fuel reaches the engine. Unless your car has extremely high mileage, I wouldn’t even bother with trying to change it.

@HiroshimaSpirit
@HiroshimaSpirit 5 жыл бұрын
The 2 is known for pretty flawless reliability. Not many major issues pop up and when they do, it’s a recall that’s covered by Mazda. Other than basic wear and tear, check the oil pan and timing cover for light oil leakage. Some develop pinhole leaks and some don’t, but it’s not so much that you’d notice it between oil changes and both are easily fixed. If you have any other concerns or questions I can try to help you out. 👍🏻

You can try softer shocks, smaller wheels and tires with higher sidewalls. But it might not do much because it's a really short wheelbase. The best way is to get a car of your desired smoothness. Mods can only get you so far.

Is there not a cylindrical one in the engine bay? Like a standard one?
@HiroshimaSpirit

No. The sender, pressure regulator, pump, filter, etc are all a combined unit.

Whats a short shift kit?
@HiroshimaSpirit
@HiroshimaSpirit 5 жыл бұрын
It’s exactly what it sounds like. It shortens the throw of the shifter. It’s not an entirely different part, so it’s not called a ‘short throw shifter’. I have a video about it.

Did you stick the correct knobs onto the correct dials? The center one is different than the two outer ones. I thought they didn’t fit at first when I got mine.

Without being able to see them, I can’t offer much more help, let alone confirm that they’re even the right ones. That seems pretty strange.
