It is gratifying to see so many others who had no fucking clue how to play this game.

chemistryguy it was really weird! I still loved it though. The field of ROM chips were always really hard to find..

Love this game as a kid but it was incomprehensible to me. I just liked running around though.

I loved Tron and wanted to like this game but it was always a weird one.

It was one of those games I put in after I got bored of the other. Kind of like a palette cleanser. Then I’d have renewed interest in the others again

I also had this game as a kid. 30 years later I feel better knowing others had no bloody idea what to do either. But like many of you I kept playing simply for the sound effects and exploration ... Of what I don't know.

Yep. I consider this my first Open World game. I just knew "find the RAM chips."

To this day, I sometimes get this 'music' stuck in my head. I really should have it as a ringtone, so I can share my pain.

lol same. A weird but memorable tune that pops up every 5 years

I loved this game! I still have it in its original box too. Probably haven't played it in over 20 years. I think Mattel did an excellent job on the sound effects. A lot of intellivision games recycled sound effects from each other, but this one stood out with an all new, fresh set of really cool sounds.

Not a very movie-accurate MCP, but it's definitely freaky-looking! Thanks for the post! (Doo-do. Do-do-doo-do...)

I always wanted to love this game. The MCP battle was so poorly documented wasn't sure if I beat it or not. From this video, looks like I did. But when it just took me back to the maze I was never sure. I would have been more satisfied with an explosion or something. Out of the Tron games I liked Solar Sailer the best.

K Yancy or get to see Dillinger as the MCP dissolves away.

When I was a kid, I had no idea what was going on, but I loved to explore the world, and I knew I was supposed to find the RAM chips. The MCP scene was the wildest thing ever back then, and actually made me interested in binary math. One thing I never figured out was the bonus scene with Bit in Tron Solar Sailer.

I played this weird-ass game in 1982. fast forward to 2017 and I still don't know what you have to do. even the sfx are bizarre.

awesome! I remember this game, but I guess I was too young to have patience for it, lol. The music has been in my brain ever since I saw the trailer for the new movie.

Awesome enough sound effects for Daft Punk to sample them. (Listen closely at the track "End of Line" - they sampled *generously* from this game)
@tyiarrasim447910 жыл бұрын
OMG!! I used to play this 20+yrs ago every morning before school!!
@Allronix11 жыл бұрын
Oh, that game. You have to listen for the binary access code - 9 digits of 1s and 0s. You stop 1s and 0s in the datastream and enter 1-9 on your keypad to place them in the string. Bit will tell you "Yes" or "No" if you got the placement right. Enter a full, correct string, and it knocks the MCP down about 15 points. Knock the jerk to 0 and you win.

I expected some kind of ending for beating the MCP, but it seems it makes no difference what you do other than maybe pinits or something. At least the crappy solar sailer game has a way to win. TRON Deadly Discs was the most fun, but got hard when they got the shock sticks out (kind of like getting to the invisible robot in Night Stalker).

Over 30 years ago, I could NEVER understand how to play this game, but it had some awesome sound effects and beats. LOL

There was a device called Intellivoice as per some friends who had it they told me it was needed to get the instructions and get to successfully finish the game, til now I don’t know if it was true 🤷🏻♂️

lol I sure remember this game from years ago, a challenging game that didn't end. Always lost when I got up to the 3rd or 4th level when the screen would move too fast? Couldn't figure out if there was an 'ending' on this game.....
@fench12345677 жыл бұрын
Fun fact playing this game: If the screen catches up to you, STOP... Dont move or touch the controls! The screen will kill you but you wont lose one of your lives. Works indefinitely, as far as I can remember.

I played this game endlesssly as a kid, had no idea how to beat it. After watching - I still don't know. How did you win?
@pierresavoie3 жыл бұрын
You can not beat the MCP in this game. You just play the game over and over. The game ends when you are out of lives. The more you advance in this game, the more difficult it becomes. I have this game for nearly 40 years and I still like it.
I always wanted to play this game but I had an Atari. I have no idea what is going on here.

It's amazing about: just how much I've rooted for this video game console to stay put in business. Even right after George Plimpton forfeited being the spokesperson for Mattel Electronics Intellevision. It's also knowing how to handle the video game consoles controls. Once you get the hang of it. For "Tron," it's this, once I become powerful, nothing can stop me. ✅️ ↔️ 👉 🔛 ➡️ 🤜 ✅️ 💯
