Children are a blessing. It is understandable to believe the grandmother’s reaction was due to her personal reasons/experiences that led her to associate children with financial stress and limited resources (including the free time she lost in her own childhood.) She grew up in a scarcity mindset. It was all she knew. Not her fault. Very good of her apologize when she realized the pain her reaction had caused. Her grandbaby will likely see this video one day and it will be a lesson in forgiveness and compassion.

Our father was present up until I was 13 but he never financially helped in fact he was the cause of all our fear and hurt because he was abusive (he clearly was battling his own demons) anyways I am now an adult and I will not be bringing a big family into this world because of how I grew up. We definitely had to survive and did little living, I am 24 and have never been happy. I never got the attention or love I needed and many of my siblings feel the same way. We now have to work through all the trauma. I’m glad you are all mature and were able to have a conversation to move past the different views caused by different life experiences. So what if they are learning Korean, those children, Joe and Maze don't deserve to be mistreated and disrespected by that Korean grandmother. Joe looked so hurt, embarrassed and ashamed of his mothers reactions to hear about Maze's pregnancy. That is none of his mothers business. Joe needs to stand up to his mother and let her know that he will not tolerate her seemingly racist and horribly awful behavior to his family. And, he should demand an apology in the most respectful manner he can do. And whether his mom apologizes or not, he and Maze should think long and hard about exposing thier family to the grandmother for long time. Children need love and nurturing for a lifetime. A hug, a kiss, or any type of affection from that grandmother would have been cherished for a life time. It is highlt necessary in the guturw development of those sweet children. That is the heart and soul of an innocent child we're talking about. Sheesh. Damned a culture that has no respect for the love, heart and soul of a child. .

My father was 55 when I was born and he was the youngest of 7. My grandparents were born in the 1800s. Of course, at that time birth control wasn't a thing and infant mortality was high. A few miscarriages and a few babies who died young was common... I really like the structure of a large family because older siblings also take on responsibility for the little ones, and it's such an energetic but also supportive environment. Small families can be isolating. In bigger families, there is always company and someone to talk to. I used to think how awesome it would be to have a big family like yours, but now I feel that the growing threats of overpopulation are on the horizon and I don't want to contribute to it, or see my children in the future suffer from wars over basic necessities. However, I think you have a beautiful family. 😍 The mixing of cultures reminds me of my own upbringing!

I completely agree or least understand what you mean about isolation but sometimes a person has to move away from family in the end anyway. Joe needs to step up and respectfully let his mother know that her behavior is hurtful, cruel and wrong, and that he will not tolerate that around his wife and children. He looks so hurt and dejected. That grandma needs to be talked to and dealt with. She is hurting her son, his wife and family! @@Loveamericasave Everyone is not that welcoming. Do you expect everyone to be extremely well prepared? This is extremely common in Asia. The country I live in, forget about race or color of skin, it is considered wrong if you marry someone from another state or even caste. Things are very different in third world countries. And maybe it isn't because of the fact that the wife is of a different race, but maybe because having 7 kids these days is uncommon and difficult for her to process. Log out, and get a life. Easy to judge, difficult to accept and understand.

I have always sensed that his family doesn't like the fact that he is with a black woman. It is complicated. I don't have the patience to stand my husband's family not liking me because of my race. It would just piss me off. But honestly, many Asian communities are notoriously anti-black. When I date interracially, I ask what are their family's ideas on race pretty early on because I have no time to waste.

Understandable reaction from where grandma’s coming from, I would have thought there goes my retirement, cruises and all 🤣 in her day you went out to work all day just to make rent and food non of this tech privilege labour saving devices we have now. These two can work on a computer at home with babies in hand and they have mastered parenting, careers and good income. They’re exceptional parents ❤️

having more than 4 kids is not that burden if the parents are responsible and fully know their obligations, parents who has more than 5 kids are lucky than to people who wanted to ba a parents but they can't make it. as this alena and joe, i think they are very responsible parents, they give their children harmonious and happy lives, they sent them to school

Oh my gosh, after binging on this show of yours for the last week, to see little Arizo singing the Korean lullaby at the end just takes the cake in precious moments. I’ve seen from your family. I want to be adopted or do an internship in how to do such beautiful scenes with your eye for videography.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
