Hello Friends,
This is one of my favorite play party games! I learned it from Bessie Jones at the Fox Hollow Folk Festival back when I was about 13 years old. Bessie sang it this way, "I looked down the alley and what did I see, a big fat man from Tennessee." I quit singing it like that when children in a third grade classroom laughed and pointed at the heaviest child in the room who left the game in tears and everything fell apart for a bit. I just don't go there anymore.
