I'm 57 years old and blessed with sweet grandmothers. My maternal Grandmother, born in the early 1900's, was of Greek decent, born in NYC. Mary Elizabeth Perry taught me to be American and strong in this culture. My paternal Greek Grandmother, Sofia Moshoyannis, was born in the late 1800's---in Ambelonas, Greece (Thessaly/Central Greece). She taught me to believe in God and to be morally sound. My Grandmothers taught understanding and were extraordinarily KIND. Both were also respectful of differences and embraced them. Both lived through WWII, and the devastation that the war brought to their respective villages/cities. Loving music does not make one Christian Orthodox. Being sweet, kind, generous in music and song is what they would have wanted. We are one, and God loves us all. Heaven Help us all.
