man awesome battle. mb14 with his amazing voice but still i think penkyx. some people might forget that musicality only have the few obvious parameters like good melody ( in this case good singing) and rich harmony etc which are outstanding in mb14 rounds but penkyx is much better in other musical parameters like structering and rythm( notice for example that mb14 beat was i bit of in the first round) and his sound are very original ( even if produced with a machine which is kind of the concept of the battle) so don't be too quick with your judgement ;-)

Mb14 is a singer.... Penkyx is a Loopstation artist The difference... Mb14 doesn't really use the loop-station as an instrument.. he uses it simply as a mechanism to create a beat and then sing/do something thats one track along with the beat... while I think thats fucking amazing it really doesn't require much skill with a LOOPSTATION to do this and at the end of the day he's just a good singer with average beatbox/loopstation skills. PENKYX might not be the best at singing/rapping/pitch but I think how he uses a loop-station makes him a one-of-a-kind artist that no-one can touch in talent/ability with an RC-505. I guess if it was in "Beatboxing terms" it's Technicality (ability to produce with onboard effects) vs. Musicality (Ability to create but mainly focusing around vocals) Just my two cents though!

As a big fan of Penkyx, I gotta say MB14 should have won this. Penkyx is starting to be repetitive as shit. All about recording 3 or 4 sounds and soaking them with effects speeding them up at the drop. MB14 has shown here some musicality, originality and diversity. Btw, Penkyx "I don´t need the rest of my time to win you" trick has been seen as much as his cap. P.S.: This should have been the final. And, sadly (as a Penkyx fan), MB14 should have win it.

I disagree. You could also say that MB14 is repetitive as shit cause he does beat, bass, melody, harmony and then sings. Most loopers do this that way. The rest is just how well You perform and what people like to hear. MB14 sounds great cause he can sing well and use it to make superior instruments impressions. Penkyx have different approach. He's like music producer without samples, so he must make them and then refine them with audio workstation. Saying that he does only fx soaking is pure ignorance. He's using them very well and understand how they work. From my perspective Pancake's skill in handling loop station is more valuable than MB14 singing skills. MB14 more original? Hell no, he did impressions and cover. Penkyx is creating sounds. It always comes to what You like more. Question is what should be scored higher by judges? Nice covers, song with using loopstation for overdub and reverb or creating tunes by using loopstation to the fullest? Peace

This was my favorite battle of the entire competition! Amazing harmonies and vocal skill from MB14 and Penkyx always killing it with the drops. Keep in mind, I was there live and the judges had a super hard time deciding who won. They were deliberating for like 20 min before winner was announced. At the end of the day, both these guys are winners!

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of penkyx but I really think MB14 should've won. Penkyx didn't sound very clean in some parts of his rounds (especially his second), and both of MB14's rounds were very clean and to me just sounded a lot better and had a bigger 'wow' factor in general than penkyx's rounds. I scored each round (personally) out of 10. First Round: MB14 - 9/10 Penkyx - 8/10 Second Round: MB14 - 10/10 (19 total) Penkyx - 5.5/10 (13.5 total) This is my personal opinion. Big ups to both the artists no hate! :)

Great job from both performers, big respect to both of them. Really amazed by MB14's vocal techniques, his energy and his talent but he really has to work on his sync and to improve it... his first loops were missing something like one tenth of a second to be in tempo. Anyway, it's was a really, really good job and way more original than his 1/4 final session ;-) Penkyx did a great job too... i'm not really into this kind of music but his talent is more than evident, he's a pretty good beatboxer and a loopstation master. If a man knows how to rock on a rc505, then Penkyx is the one ! Just hoping he'll be about to stay creative and won't restrain himself, by using the same effects and structure each time... but I trust him to amaze us again and again :-) Can't wait to see what's next !!!

This era of MB14 was pure gold. Even though i loved MB14's sportsmanship more forward on his other participations on GBB and with more well rounded rounds, his battle attitude here with his whole musical approach was fire, so intimist, definetly loved his more agressive and experimental side on these battles on 2015; not as polished, but really pure. I sure miss Penkyx, in 2014 he was so ahead of his time, and here he came in 2015 as fresh as ever, such a revolutionary guy that could go face to face with some of the best names today with the kind of routines he can bring. And currently i miss MB14 as well, he surely has been missing. Still one of my favorite loopstation battles, truly a clash of different styles. Due to the lack of a big punch in Penkyx's second round in general, but specially with the "Belgium Underground" drop forward, and the banger of a second round from MB14, with such a powerful presence, it ends up with me giving the win to MB14. Big up to his truly beautiful first round (with no need of a typical structure with crazy drops, but with focus on progression, melody and experimentalism).

It was good PENKYX called him out on that twice. PENKYX did have some issues. But based on my opinion purely as a spectator, they didn't seem that bad. He stayed calm, cool, and worked them out.
