You 100% inspired me to SUPER-ACCELERATE...I started the MBA on 3/1/2021 and I just completed C207 Data-Driven Decision Making today 4/2/2021...never thought I would be 9 classes in after 33 days. I am a full-time division manager of a government agency I am out the door at 7 a.m. and home after 6 p.m. I have pulled a lot of all-nighters and not been much fun socially but, it is all paying off.

@@testing123. I don't have any specific readings but I do recommend studying the practice assessments on quizlet, they will help you on all of your exams accept financial management. For that class you need to become best friends with your BA II Plus and watch the video of the professor going through each type of formula...you got this!

Congrats. With that type of experience, the biz management program will be natural for you. The only tip I have is to make time in your schedule to study and work on school. Commit your weekends to school until you finish. It’s not super easy but it’s doable and requires the sacrifice (for awhile). Best of luck!

I have been going to WGU for almost a year and due to graduate in June all I have left is economics and operations management plus capstone but I must say you are an absolute beast for finishing it so quickly. If you dedicate enough time I think 1 term is quite doable but I don't think for 100 grand even after recently taking these classes that I would be able to retake and pass accounting for decision makers and financial management in 9 days on top of fitting ethical leadership in there. To be fair ethical leadership is quite easy and can easily be finished in a couple days but those other 2 classes were really difficult for me and what makes matter worse is the OAs word things differently than the PA and text books which threw me off quite a lot

I got my BS in cybersecurity at WGU. It took me 3 terms but could have done it in 2. Kind of sucked taking a term with only 3 classes and that is the other side of expectations with WGU. If you don't accelerate, it can cost the same as other online schools. However, I'm considering getting my MBA now and while I would prefer to do it at any other online school as to not "stack" at the same place, I am drawn back to WGU and hopeful that I could finish this in a single term.

It’s hard to say. My way of doing things is set a goal and figure out the rest along the way. I think it can be done with that time commitment. It’s only 11 courses for the MBA program. Make it your mission to do 1 per month no matter what. That way you’re on track to hit your goal and you give yourself an extra month incase you need extra time with any of the courses. My past experience was eclectic before completing the MBA program at WGU. I had about 3 years consultative sales and marketing experience as well as a few years in facilities management. The past experience definitely helped with completing this program as fast as I did. As far as the study time, I would work about 8-10 hours most days with it. I had a goal to finish as fast as possible. However, it’s totally flexible to fit around your life and schedule.

I only worked with other WGU students 1 time throughout my entire time enrolled. That was the MBA capstone project. However, they changed it so you no longer work with a team. To pass each class you have to pass either an objective assessment (multiple choice exam) or a performance assessment (written essay, or presentation). Some classes require both but only a few. The objective assessments are proctored via webcam by an actual person who can see you and your workspace to prevent the use of any study material or coursework.

The capstone was really challenging but I had a great time doing it. It’s essentially a simulation where you make decisions over 7 rounds (7 years) you have to carefully consider all effects of each decision you make with the goal of growth. Job hunting was pretty rough due to me graduating and starting my job hunt in 3/2020 right as Covid really hit. I did about 15-20 different interview processes with different companies and did very well in many of them however, I encountered multiple “hiring freezes” and heavy competition in the area I live in. I landed the position I have currently in 8/2020 and have even turned down a few really good offers as well. I do have about 15 years of work experience that really helped me get through WGUs program as well as get the offer for the position I have. However, the MBA definitely did open up a lot more doors and Iv never once 2nd guessed my decision to peruse it.

I tried to get a somewhat firm understanding of the main points of the whole course, then I took the pre-assessment and whichever areas I didn’t get a passing grade I dove in to those areas a little deeper before taking the OA. @tylermaxey7481
@tylermaxey7481 2 жыл бұрын
Same format yes. You have performance and objectives assessments for each course. The capstone is different. In addition to multiple performance assessments, you also have to complete and pass a simulation where you run all aspects of a business. It’s quite challenging but also pretty fun.

A lot of it was stuff Iv had prior experience with. However, I would take the pretest to see where my knowledge was on the subject, then I would using the course material efficiently to touch up on the areas I needed more learning on. As well as flash card sets from quizlet.com, Then I would take the test. I only failed one test throughout both the bachelor and master program but if you do you can retake it twice I believe before having to pay a retake fee. That may be different now so don’t quote me on that.

1. I didn’t go directly to the assessment. I went to the pre-assessment to get a feel for what the assessment would be like. I studied the competencies I needed to based on how I did on the pre-assessment. If you fail the assessment I believe you get 1 retake for free, then have to pay a fee of some sort for additional try’s. 2. It’s a flat fee per term. You finish in 1 month or 5 months the tuition is the same flat fee.
