The leading money winner on the tour in the 1920's, Wild Bill Mehlhorn advocated in his book "Golf Secrets Exposed," swinging the club with the thumb and first two fingers to establish a swinging motion, exactly as you suggest.

Should have searched for 65yr old golfers videos before ! ( I'm 65 and wanted to know what we should look like / what are we capable of doing ) . No Bull , just love your explanations . I'm usually criticised for being TOO analylitical in everything that I want to learn , you've proved that there is NOTHING wrong in that . Thanks again .

Mr. Broderick Thank You for your channel. In my humble opinion, your channel is one of the best golf instructional channels on KZbin. I'm curious about the Dunaway first move....it seems like moving into the Moe Norman setup. Is this a One Plane Swing? Also doesn't this effectively change Lie Angle?
@michaelbroderick6 жыл бұрын
charly yoo thank you Charly for the kind words. I only teach what I found worked. As far as lie angles I found that all I have to do is use my rt hand to strike a ball. It doesn't matter. As long as I reach out for a ball I'll nail it in the center of the face. Right now I'm just teaching cmotion to people although there are common elements to every method. If I found an element that worked I kept it. If it didn't I was done with it. For instance I love Mike Dunaway. I can generate great speed but my irons are just not as accurate as with cmotion. So I don't use the same motion I did when I was into Long drive. I adapted to learn to score. I realized cmotion was such a simple motion and it holds up day to day. I have been adopting the motion all summer with good results so it's becoming ingrained now. It's arm motion was similar to mine anyway with a lot less moving lower parts than I had. Plus I still achieve good distance. If you wish I am in hangouts at michael.broderick4@gmail.com I share additional material there to help people. I simply got tired of all the nonsense written and taught. I was athletic when I was young and most that was taught to me just didn't make any sense. Once I started seeing common traits in every good player and defined them for myself I got better. Much better in fact. 17 strokes better to breaking par and driving balls over 350 again. I'm 61 and do both those things on a regular basis. When I started my studies I was down to 250 yards and couldn't break 85 anymore. I thought it was my age advancing but I proved that to be wrong. I'm still improving in fact! Thanks again for the kind words. It's a secret only a few hundred of us share!

Michael , Today i have my 2nd golf lesson, ( the first one was 2014 and i got injured ! ) , i haven't had time to study all of your videos as I only came across your series last evening . i am going to take to my lesson a relaxed state of mind , hopefully no tension and keep in mind what i've learnt from you in a very short period of time . I suspect that you are a Ti Chi person and I must find you " bio" on the web . So many famous Michael Brodericks on Facebook , where can i find out more about your career and life ?

I am 62 years old and I am hitting the ball further than ever using something similar to your idea . I hold the club in just my right thumb and forefinger and when I near the top of my back swing I try and release all pressure. It stops me casting and enables me to whip the club.

Thanks, Michael.

What is the purpose of the pause at the top? I notice that when i pause I hit 100 times better, not saying I've mastered the swing just an observation that has helped me. Thank you.

MICHAEL, just viewed the 3 finger drill......went outside and hit some into the net......the motion feels like smooth jazz.....what do you believe is the best way to incorperate this motion /action into the full swing ? or is it a relaxed mind set t ? and the concept that trying to muscle the ball is terrible.Also do you adhere to LEE'S philosophy of driving the sole of the club UNDER and thru the ball ? Your teaching / coaching is beautiful.....I did the same for 35 years.....again your effort is awesome and GREATLY APPRECIATED... Ron

Under and through yes. ...this also answered your own question didn’t you? You felt it. No?

@@michaelbroderick THANKS for the reply......my question would be do you still use pressure with just the bottom 2/3 fingers ?HANKS >Ron

Michael I try to do your methods but down the line I always look so across the line. How can I fix this?
@garyboxx15 жыл бұрын
Very good in principle I get the idea but I would loose the big bend in the left arm that would = power loss.
@michaelbroderick5 жыл бұрын
That shows how brainwashed we have been. Baseball players have bent arms. I hit a 7i 210 yards if I wish. I can drive well over 300 yards. The point of this channel is to help people. We don't do what they do. It's what I learned. It was all nonsense. Golf pro tips. No science. No physics. I couldn't do their swing. It hurt. So I found another way.

The first part of this video looks exact like Dan Martin’s swing aid called “The Pro”. Exactly like. Somebody is copying somebody else without attribution.
@michaelbroderick2 жыл бұрын
Who is Dan Martin? I’ll have to look that up? Btw this is a really old video. If someone borrowed an idea god bless them. Marketing has never been my strong point.
@peterdunn35312 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbroderick i had noted that yours was an older video that I had only recently discovered when I started looking for stuff on centrifugal and centripetal firces in the swing. His aid even includes the little contact flag in the ground that you aim the end of the device towards. Anyhow, I am subscribed and looking forward to checking out the rest of your materials. I am trying to be a swinger rather than a hitter. Cheers…

He. Is swinging the club with his rotation letting centrifucal force take over.Its effortless and you can create a lot of speed like this at any age if you are flexible.The move with is rt leg keeps the club on plane.Fokes you have just witnessed the secret the the golf swing.Look no further believe it or not.

It seems like you are dropping the club down quite a bit before you even move your lower body to post up, it should be the other way around, start with your lower body first and then let the arms fall into place like a whipping action. The faster you move the arms without the lower body, this will cause you to cast the club out, but if you start with the lower body first, then the arms will automatically fall into place. Just like a baseball swing, you must start with the lower body first, no difference in golf.
@michaelbroderick5 жыл бұрын
1234 Hips chest arms club. I don't cast. It's an alternative to standard teaching which failed me is all. You like rotary. That's fine. I've just offered theres many ways to do it. I simply show people how I got better. Not just better. I'm scratch. At 62 I can hit pro average distance and above. I break par. It's just we don't don't do what others do an offer an alternative thats easier on the body. It's great for seniors and actually all players. The modern swing can be quite injurious which is being proven out on the pga. I could never master it and I was an athlete. I just did this channel to offer how I got better and improved. Leverage and speed not body twisting, big shoulder turns or ram rod left arms. All not necessary. An alternative and a choice. Thanks for commenting.
@rodneyblackwell74775 жыл бұрын
There are PGA teachers who don't say you must start with the body first.. eg Tony Luzack. He says ABC.. arms body club.. so there is more than one way.
