Baptist ''what the bible says" is not true. Jack Hyles ministry is cultic even his daughter testified. and the baptist churches looked for him as a good example for their ministries. Jack Hyles owned so many properties as said by his daughter.Where did he got the money to purchase those? tithes. Tithing a big scam for New testament christianity. prove me this is wrong. You need to research boy. Try to watch Dr. Kelly Russel(Former Baptist Minister) videos about his thesis on tithing so that your eyes will open wide about this practice. Educate yourself not just say 'Amen' when pastor ask you say amen? learn from him. Giving back of tithes has nowhere to be found preached by the early church in New Testament. Malachi 3:10 is the most used verse to scare the members to give their tithes back.. this is a wrong interpretation. tithe is not a money, it is not for the gentile like us, it is the law given to Israel. It is food and herbs and others that the holy land of Israel produces. It is not only 10%. watch his video in youtube.

@@carmenmamanao5441 obedience of what?? first step of obedience, what is the second step? the moment the pastor say the sinners prayer and made you to follow as your own prayer and after it he declared you as saved person is not biblical, that is a denial of the gospel. receiving Christ alone cannot save us. give a verse where baptism is not part of salvation.

Authoritarianism and cultic ministries like Jack Hyles who controlled the mind and will of his members and demands loyalty. Innovation of doctrines and practices and now changing the church to government like system because the pastor is a politician and have two offices serving God and mammon. Matt. 6:24, Luke 16:13.

1 Tim. 5:17 let the Elders that rule well counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. Eph. 4:1 And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets ;and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Jeremiah 23;1 Woe unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord. Who are the worthy and double honour? not the pastors but the Elders who rule well and labour in the word and doctrine. pastor mentioned only once in the new testament and was listed next to Evangelist.

Consider to look on the Ministry, most of it is still the Pastor who pioneered and served as the elder in the church. That tone of yours are similar to some people that are only entertained in criticism and do negative narratives.

Yes, I am a son of a Pastor but this is not a "very defensive" stand because this is what I witnessed locally, that it is the Pastors almost all throughout Independent Bible Believing Baptist Churches pioneered and strive in the ministry.

Want to understand the True Church go back to it's DNA, then compare religious denomination to the Bible whether they practice the Apostolic teachings and of Christ.
