There is no diploma course, fellowship or bridge course till now. You will have to give neet and do MBBS if you want to practice medicine currently. There is a suggestion of bridge course by the government but no action on it yet.

Its a good thing that someone, is trying to balance dental medicine with general medicine & its appreciable , But Age, finance, family support, really considerabl. Now why Dental specialist should go for mbbs,its not only to fullfield the dream of to, learn mbbs but also there are many of time , this may be faced by many of us...many of time, when we sent a diabetic patient,or patints with hypertension, thyroid & anyother comorbidites to treat our dental patient, for further completion of our dental treatment with writtent physcian consent, not all but many of them so call mbbs & specialist , doesnt give positive response or ignore, or doesnt give written physician consent, or simply they ask there patient to change there dentist, Yeah this happens..... By the way our respected mentor, have so much of time , finance, moral support from fmly & friends He is really blessed .....

Why he did it is because for doing the craniofacial speciality fellowship you need to do MBBS also.. abroad in many countries you can only do oral surgery after both BDS and MBBS. Second fellowships are paid. Yes he had family supporting as well. But we all do so we are BDS. There are many who don't get to finish school. The point is he used the opportunity to grow. There are so many who have the resources don't put in the effort. He did.

Currently no bridge course. It is proposed but not there.. and mbbs is 5 and half years not 4..

Now you can learn basics of craniofacial from India by working with drs like him. Eventually they will start those courses in India. That time dual degree won't be needed. But if you want to go out and do it most countries ask for dual degree.. check various universities abroad for the course..

Have you done BDS or MBBS? For omfs you have to do BDS and for plastic surgery MBBS and the MS..

If you not interested in BDS don't do it. It is more difficult to do MBBS later. Better take a drop and attempt MBBS if you don't like BDS. Not worth studying 5 years what you don't enjoy. But yes, if you ready to join BDS and forget MBBS then go ahead.

I'm the first yr dental student from Sri lanka selected from 2nd shy. I got 3As for A/L from my 3rd shy but i couldn't enter to medical faculty(in top level medical faculty ) in Srilanka because there is unfair legal system of University Grants Commission in Sri Lanka.It was so unfair that i lost all my hard work and dedication. When i saw this video i got to know i have other path to become a doctor. So i hope to get mbbs like this after BDS degree.I don't know it properly it will be success.Thnks for ur video👌👌

Don't know his exact age 😁.. plus his goal of starting an hospital not done yet.. but you can finish bds plus mds by 24 mbbs by 30 then.. then fellowship add 2-3 years.. so if you plan this path maybe 35 years..

Yes.. finances do play an important role.. but still omfs is a great degree to help get financial stability..

Once college hours are over you a free to do what you want. If you have a degree you can work on it..

Hello sir my friend has done bpth ( bachelor in physiotherapy)..now there is no age criteria for neet but will there be any problem in admission? If a person has a medical degree already if any case he get mbbs after neet will there be any problem in admission do u have any idea about any GR

Having one degree does not prevent you from getting another. So after physiotherapy you can again apply for neet clear it and get into MBBS.

He did his MBBS in India. He worked after MDS and during MBBS. After that the fellowship in UK was a paid one.

All these are possible when u are financially very sound.. Plus it's never a big thing to select ur speciality in a pvt college.. It's a big thing when u earn a govt seat in the speciality of ur choice... Maxillofacial surgeons are qualified enough to communicate with any other speciality definitely you don't need an mbbs degree to just communicate..

We have no where told MBBS is compulsory. There are many who are financially sound but don't put in the effort to do both. It is desire to do a super speciality fellowship abroad which is not there in India still which made him decide to do this. Yes it is not meant for all financially or motivationally so the interview 🙂..
