단순히 커버를 잘한다가 아닌게 어떤 곡을 부르고 어떤 언어로 불러도 가사를 인지하고 가사와 멜로디에 맞는 무드로 커버해주는게 진짜 멋진거 같음. 리한나노래나 아델노래같은 팝송 커버도 그렇고 예전에 정훈희님이 극찬했던 안개 리메이크곡도 그렇고.. 또 일본에서 도리카무노래나 쿠보다 토시노부 라라라 러브송 부를때도.. 곡 자체를 이해하고 연구하고 부르는 성실함이 드러나서 가수로서 더 멋진거 같음.

내가 보아를 좋아하는 이유는 소름끼치는 가창력이 아니다... 그녀가 '가수'로서의 천부적인 재능을 가지고 있기 때문이다.... 안무가 아닌 춤을 추면서 완벽에 가까운 라이브...보아의 재능이 물론 있었겠지만 그녀가 어릴때부터 얼마나 열심히 노력해서 이 자리까지 올 수 있었는지 알면 비난하지 못할것이다... 난 그냥 보아가 좋다 ^.^

Despite her unique voice, there are a lot of emotions that she was delivering through this live performance. I felt the thrill sent through my body and I guess that's why I keep listening to it. On the other hand, there are a lot of artists with powerful voices and impeccable skills but aren't able to deliver the emotions BoA is doing in this version. Nevertheless, being able to connect with artists is something on a more personal level for everyone, so her version may work for some but seems off to others. I love it though.

people talk about her nasally voice as if it's new to her or something... that's been her voice since she first debuted in 2000... that's what makes her voice so unique recognizable not just in korea but all of asia. and of course it's all preference when it comes to what people like or dislike and both have the right to say what they think. all i can say is that having your own color is always better than not, which is what makes her so much respectable than majority of other k-pop singers.

cover is not supposed to do an exact copy of the original, no? I always thought cover is usually about singing it into his or her style. In that respect, I think BoA did a great job singing it as herself, not a copy of Rihanna. There is not a hint of Rihanna in this cover and that's how she does her covers by others.
