@@PepsiColaRhapsody it is if it denies a goal scoring opportunity which in this case it might well have with vicario in no man’s land and the Brentford player potentially having an opportunity to snatch a shot first time into an empty net even if there are defenders. But it’s down to interpretation of a goal scoring opportunity.

As a Spurs fan and someone who did a Stake punt on a Solanke to score, im more than happy with this result. All weekened our fans have shouted that Son needs to be striker instead, people need to realize that Solanke is a great player! and that it takes time to adjust to a new team, let’s give him our support!

ESPN - Vicaro hand ball analysis…..A handball can only be reviewed by VAR in the denial of goal or goalscoring opportunity. The ref missed the touch when Vicario’s feet landed outside the penalty box. Then another rule is that a direct free kick is awarded and a yellow card is shown if a promising attack is stopped then VAR cant be used for a yellow card. A red card shown if a goal or obvious goal scoring opportunity is denied. So at best it would have been a free kick … ESPN Explanation

I think it’s a free kick since he touched the ball outside the box, if he touched it in the box then he is entitled to it anyway. His movement towards to the ball was also illegitimate, no body contact or malicious intent, it would be a hash pen even if the ref were to do something.

I was in the stadium and happened to sit next to Hotspurs' penalty area in the second half. Vicario clearly touched the ball with his hands outside the penalty area. The ref was definitely wrong.
