Sakina, in KZN the MKP simply inherited existing non-maintain structures from ANC, IFP, NFP, SANCO and even EFF. MKP simply recruited leaders and the rest was history. Now in terms of the ANC. Remember President Thabo visited the province before election. Meaning the province was further divided into three factions- TM faction, CR faction and JZ faction. These factions are what dropped the votes of the ANC. The real problem of the ANC is not poorly maintained branches, nor factions in the ANC. The real problem of the ANC is cult politics. ANC Presidency in the has been gradually transformed into "cult". ANC has Democratic Systems give too much power to president. Enemy of the ANC does not need to work hard- ANC enemies just invest on making sure that ANC Presidents can not stand each other. Now if ANC presidents can not be comrades (friends) - then you can never expect factions to end. What is worse is if one or more of these presidents can pass away before peace among them is achieved- then factions in the ANC will hound to PAC/COPE fate.
