you did great. you never know what a day will bring. a few weeks ago i went to see some books some people had hidden away of there fathers and when i got there i seen the tote full i agreed to buy.. but then they took me to an old building and showed me a cabinet full 6 foot tall three foot wide full of silver and bronze age books.. i got all of them for 1500 $ it was a blast stacks and stacks of great stuff there was 1,853 comics total and i all most did not go but i knew it would have drove me crazy glad i did so it just shows you never know what a day will bring congrats keep hunting

Yes I collected the first 130+ issues. The stories are great and geared to a more mature audience compared to the regular comic. But most important the interior art and especially the covers are incredible. Done by some of the best of the period. Marvel just recently announced that they reacquired the rights to do Conan again. If cheap definitely worth picking up. Epic Illustrated the same. Issue 3 is 1st Dreadstar!

Awesome find , stuff you dream about that Conan #23 is the 1st Cameo of Red Sonja and Hot book and #24 is her 1st full appearance, and the 2 Red Sonja # 1's is her 1st appearance under the Marvel Banner and then her 1st appearance with just her name, and Savage Sword of Conan #1 is Sonja's 1st appearance in Chain Maill Bikini, great stuff way to go.

I think the rule is 1975-85 the direct market books are rarer (the one with the slash throught the UPC are the direct market). After 85 the newsstands are rarer.

I just picked up a collection of high grade silver age marvel comics, keys included for about $1.70 each this morning... Glad I saw your video last night it encouraged me... The seller was one single man not a store or estate company and he kind of messed up on the price I spent $150 on everything.. it was a one shot type deal and he did not give me a chance to buy more. He was reluctant to let go of some. It was an inheritance. In retrospect I should have bought everything but my view is kind of skewed cause i get these 4 color beauties often for cheap.. I didn't actually realize the potential value I left behind. He kept saying $450 for everything. If I paid $300 more for about $1 and change a book... I left behind great books not mega keys but more high grade silver marvel... I'm not a dealer just an avid collector who at time sells.. Do you try to buy everything if the price is right for the value or what you want and are comfortable with?

Awesome! I hope you post a haul video soon! It pays to keep you eyes out. I think you have to do what your comfortable doing. For me, it’s about what I need in my collection and what I could sell for profit so that I can add that up for a bigger book. If you’re happy, great! Hindsight is always 20/20 and you can always kick yourself for not trying to get more. I also have limited room so I can’t often buy big collections. How did you find these books?

So Glad you said Hindsight is always 20/20... never heard that b4 and looked it up.. it makes me feel better even for the fact that I care to learn and get better in diff situations. I think it's important for me to buy what i like/want... to be me is to be healthy.. im not much of a greedy person ... I walked away with 88 comics.. there had to be 300 available at maximum... I felt if i paid an additional $300 I could have at least $10 x 200 more.. but then again the seller wanted to keep some for his newborn son so im sure his newborn son will appreciate what is left. It was an ad posted online. After a lot of going back and forth he said fill up a box for $150. So I had to be very selective with what issues I wanted and once my box was full he didn't let me get more. He kept saying they would go up on value, they were easy to sell on ebay, he wanted these for his son. He kind of wanted to keep them

Cool - I'll check out the video. I think the guy knew the Giant Size X-Men because he was very specific to mention it to me. He is just a collector who knew what he liked, just as I know what books I like (either as my own collection or to invest in). You're right - it's good to know what you are passionate about because there are SOOO many books out there and one guy could go broke buying everything they see.

It's best to bag and board them up before you show up because your bending them and it may hurt alot of people if they see a good comic and priced high and they way your handling them may bump down the grade and price..
