[8D][4k] FEC Serving the Florida East Coast, Tequesta, FL - Rockledge, FL 07/14/2021

In this part of the "Expedition to the Depp Southeast" series (for the entire playlist click here: www.youtube.co..., we catch Florida East Coast Railway's traffic between Tequesta, FL and Rockledge, FL, just south of Cocoa, FL. The typical LNG powered ES44C4 long-distance trains 103, 105, 204, and 206 (Jacksonville/Miami) make their appearance as well as local Fort Pierce train 920 and the Herzog ballast train AFW1 with GP40-2 units. Enjoy a nice mix of rail action blended with the very green vegetation along Florida's east coast.

WOW! Great video.I like the red and yellow paint scheme better than the older one.Love to see trains moving at track speed.It's good to see railroads other than csx and NS once in a while.

There is amazing infrastructure in this video: welded high profile rail with concrete sleepers on clamps, reinforced frogs. Kind of different from your Abbeville sub. Fantastic video. Thanks.

That's right and it is necessary for trains going at 60 mph. But one should admit that the flat landscape is much more advantageous for that than what the many hills on the Abbeville Sub permit.

The freight traffic between Jacksonville and Miami is pretty significant. Both are coastal cities with big ports, so I assume the huge cargo ships brings in a lot of goods from abroad. FEC helps distribute them in the state. There are interesting trains and nifty locomotives in the video. Thanks for the entertainment again. :)

There's also a lot of intermodal and other rail traffic by CSX and NS to Jacksonville that FEC brings down to Titusville and Miami. You're welcome!

@@tas7997 Used to see all the action when I was a kid in New Smyrna Beach. Allot of the rock trains would have 2 GP40s and a GP9. I remember the SWs too.
