Commenting on people's accents is weird and makes you look like a sheltered hick who has never talked to someone who didn't grow up in the same town as you. You may as well just say "I love how exotic and foreign you are."

this is a crazy extrapolation 😂 2021 quarantine really changed the course of how people are politely social with each other, whew. As a bi-ethnic person who has travelled a bit, and has been both “your accent is so pretty” -ed AND “you’re so exotic”-ed …. they’re not even in the same wheelhouse of nuance. Different connotations entirely. That is however, just my lived experience.
