A chaos giant backed up by ancient gear fortress cannot be interacted with unless they negate the summon itself, and wins on the spot when staring down 3 or more monsters.

Ancient Gear Advance, Ancient Gear Wyvern and Ancient Gear Frame are all 1 card starter (Ancient Gear Frame 1.5 card starter) that can make you fusion summon any Ancient Gear Fusion Monster that you want sinse the new Ancient Gear Dark Golem counts as Ancient Gear on the Field and can search Ancient Gear Fusion which can use any amount of material from the Deck as long as you use an Ancient Gear Golem from the Field as well. That means we have 3 1 card starter so 9 cards in total that can be 1 card starter to summon Chaos Ancient Gear Giant (or any of the others which can in theory function as walls that float to survive a turn).

8:15 You *can* use Prisma and King of the Swamp in the same fusion. King of the Swamp substitutes for a named material in a Fusion Summon without changing its own name, Prisma just points at a Fusion Monster and changes its own name, doesn't say anything about Fusion Summons. So King of the Swamp can PROBABLY sub for BEUD (the fact that it's "BEUD or three Blue-Eyes monsters" might interfere with that), and if he does, Prisma disguising itself as BLS can still be part of the fusion. In short: KotS says "Instead of him, use me for your fusion", Prisma simply says "I am him. Do what you want with that." KotS works without being summoned first, but only for a normal Fusion Summon with no special restrictions on it. Prisma needs to be summoned first, but also works for Contact Fusion, monsters that say "with the above Fusion Material monsters", and other things that refer to specific monsters' names.

It's not naming the Monster Card Black Luster Soldier. Its naming the Archetype "Black Luster Soldier". That means you can't use a substitution effect, either KoS or Prisma, to replace that material.

@@Evnyofdeath Right yeah I was wrong in this specific case because the new fusion specifically says "Ritual Monster". Even if you had Prisma point at original Dragon Master Knight and change its name to Black Luster Soldier, it's not a RITUAL MONSTER named Black Luster Soldier. But, if you were to somehow change the name of a Ritual Monster to BLS with an effect similar to Prisma's, you could use that. And it's still true that in the majority of cases, you can pair Prisma with KotS. You could make Flame Ghost by fusing a Prisma that dumped Skull Servant with KotS, for example.

There are still a lot of problems going first which it would be nice to see addressed. I don't mean it needs to set up 5 negates or anything, it just needs a more interactive end board when made to go first - as it stands, ancient gears can't do anything besides sit on a big towers monster and hope it can't be outed until turn 3. Apparently there's some stuff you can do with a small Springans package or something, and you could always just throw Regulus into it for a negate I guess

Honestly they should've done Ancient Gear support in a similar way to Floo - have all the cards that summon just Normal Summon from other zones instead of special. Sure, it would be weird to see "normal summon an Ancient Gear monster from your deck without tributing", but it would be cool and unique while getting around the "can't be special summoned" condition on many of the cards.

I always 'liked" the design of Ancient Gear cards, big giant mechanical Golems that hit as hard as they appear they should- however theres a reason I never touched them after we got Machina in 2010. they offer a protection against a type of spell/trap backrow that doesnt even see play. You have a higher chance of seeing someone drop Gorz after you hit them. sometimes Konami likes printing cards that wouldve been good about 15 years ago.

The aesthetic of Ancient Gears is great, but they keep pushing flavour in the wrong direction. This is an archetype of retro futuristic medieval robot army that has tanks made of stones, castles, weird catapults, giant golems and nukes. Just roll with it. Give us proper Ancient Gear artillery, flying vehicles, new big tanks and war beast, more combat fortifications or maneuvers, etc instead of milking anime nostalgia or doing whatever the hell hunting hound line or gadjiltons were.

The new AG support turns Ultimate and Megaton Golem into pseudo-towers and lets them OTK like Chaos Giant can. Dark Golem obviously makes getting AG Fusion online easy mode, and Commander ensures that you have a vanilla Golem in your GY to float into if Ultimate dies. Commander also lets you make rank 4 plays with ease (hehe Dugares) or get an extra body out for linking into Ballista. These cards shore up a lot of the decks weaknesses and give it more consistency. What they *don't* really do is give Ancient Gears an easy way to extend in-archetype, something the deck has always struggled with, so things like Infinite Impermanence still stand a strong chance of ruining your day if you don't draw the right sequence of generic extenders. I think these are a step in the right direction that do very good things for the deck, but definitely still leave it as a "for fun" archetype that can occasionally catch someone unawares and OTK.

I like the support for AG and LS. It helps AG put up a large unaffected guy and OTK. The LS support helps pure LS have some plays that aren't purely luck will still being highroll. I think people are a little over hyped about the LS support because it can mill and set up graveyard, but both main deck cards require other LS to be used effectively so quite a bit of space will have to be committed to LS for them to not be bricks and there aren't many of those that aren't also bricks if drawn. Overall both sets of support look like they will help some really outdated decks be a little more viable.

I dunno why MBT is so disappointed with the Ancient Gear cards. Wyvern is now a one card starter to end on Giant + Duel, and i feel like he's forgetting that Catapult is a card that just does everything. These cards are in fact what the deck needed. Everyone is pogging over the Lightsworns, but this support is still very efficient. Being able to turbo out a monster that is with no exaggeration an actual Towers that can attack everything with one card isnt nothing to sneeze at Also read Fortress, then come back to me

Unironically, the new Lightsworn Support makes Garoth an amazing 1-of because he just enables so much advantage gaining if you have baby JD in hand and have a Lightsworn in the GY. Sadly, that's just a 2-card combo involving Charge and it is just pure gamble at that point, but it's fun and explosive since Garoth isn't a OPT effect. Charge of the Light Brigade -> Garoth if you mill an LS -> Summon Garoth -> Summon baby JD, using its eff to mill Felis -> Garoth Mill, Felis SS -> Make new Minerva off of Baby JD and Felis -> Baby JD searches big dragon and Minerva mills 2 LS -> Garoth Mill -> it just gets absolutely insane

The interesting thing is you can actually use the new Toy cards to make the new Lightsworn support much more consistent as you can use Toy soldier to search for either of them if you have Toy box on the field, with Toy soldier being a warrior so you can search it with Rota while Toy Tank can summon soldier from the grave to trigger it's effect if it gets milled.

So Life Hack plus a monster that can attack directly and/or multiple times, either by itself or through other card effects, sounds like a pretty solid strat for making big beater of a card. I imagine it might be good with Aroma cards to further boost your life points and it's attack points, but thats all I can think of for it.

chat really underestimates the new melodious cards the end board isnt the greatest(etoile+aria+elegy+maybe a 4th body, schuberta best choice) but the deck can play through hand traps and interruptions now ostinato has no restriction on multiple copies, 1st movement solo is just ash bait. and both cards can be activated if the other is negated and you still have a normal summon negating Refrain wont stop the deck as Cannon or Sonata goes into harmonist, or any normal summon if summoned through 1st movement even summon soprano + extender can bait people into negating soprano Bacha cant be negated and etoile can play around nib because bouncing is optional so the nib has to be summoned before etoile negating harmonist is your best option. the deck can play through negated harmonist but the end board will take less than desirable

Guys, Prisma (basically) cannot work for the Dragon Magia Master. The materials are: BEUD, an extradeck monster that Prisma cannot send. (or) 3 "Blue-eyes" monsters, there's no specific name so Prisma cannot send. + 1 "Chaos" or "Black Luster Soldier" ritual monster, these are also not specific so Prisma can't send, but also Prisma only copies the _name_ so it wouldn't fulfill the "Ritual Monster" clause even if it could send by revealing a different fusion or something. Stop talking about Prisma.

Prisma can turn itself into BEWD by pointing at a BEUD, and doing that dumps a BEWD so that's two out of three BE names by itself.

You'd want to play Prisma in decks to cheat this out, but the only line Prisma can assist with at all is using 3 "Blue-eyes" monsters and sending specifically BEWD. If you're ever summoning this through the 3x Blue-eyes route, you're already playing actual Blue-eyes and don't need Prisma at all. Also if you're gonna go through the trouble of playing BEUD in the extra for Prisma, you're better off just dumping it with Kaleidomirror or Nadir or whatever than bothering with Prisma.

for the dragon fusion, maybe im just too old but it does seem like a nutty target for Dragon's Mirror in a blue-eyes deck. I know "gotta draw it" and it requires set up, but if you get hard stopped or something and just like... have a blue eyes ritual monster and 3 other monsters in the grave or field, a 5k double/triple negate that floats seems like a decent backup plan. EDIT: Okay the LS better dragon fusion looks incredible. Easy to summon, quick effect super banish (ALL field and ALL GY), and even a float effect because why the fuck not. Those LS cards all seem ultra playable, and if Im correct lack the "sent to gy by card effect" clause so you can mill them with CotLB too. Just, whoever made these make all the support cards....

You can make Dragon Magia Master with Fusion Armament to summon Ultimate Dragon, and then use that on field + Illusion of Chaos to make it. Still a tall order, but the monster itself has an insane effect

You can't use prisma plus king of the swamp to make blue eyes magia master, not because of king of the swamp's restriction, but because prisma can't be used to make BEMM. The only specifically named fusion material monster is Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, and you can't send that from your deck to the graveyard for Prisma's effect. That said, you can make BEMM with king of the swamp and a fusion tag'd monster.

0:57 there is one, her name is rookie warrior lady. she is LITERALLY female retrain of marauding captain (the guy in rota artwork) 04:16 if it was a 4 mat appo, it would go back up to 3200. as any effect that modulates attack and resets to original values will always set the card back to the number it is originally supposed to have. her attack is the number of monsters used for her summon x800. (this is why shrink increased in value exponentially when appo was first leaked. dont believe me? go look at market watches at the time, you'll also find ruling videos there too), this is why you never listen to chat. they are dumb and dont know anything.

Master of Dragon Magia is the easiest thing in the world... Dragon's Mirror with three Blue Eyes and a Chaos Max or a BECD. Future Fusion could work, too. King of the Swamp could also work to substitute for Blue-Eyes Ulti, as that's a specifically named card... and the fact that it's a Triple-Negate means it's probably going to be what you're gunning for in most turns as Blue-Eyes.

Because of the way Life Hack is worded, if you target Apollousa, doesn't she lose the ability to activate her negation? It *becomes* the LP total for the remainder of the turn; in other words, it doesn't gain ATK, its ATK is simply static to the LP value of the opponent/you. This means it won't be able to alter its ATK value with its own effect, and if it can't lose 800 ATK, it can't negate. Also, Fusion Armament seems really good for cheating out BEUD to make the new Blue Eyes fusion.

Best ways I’ve seen to get out Magia Dragon is: 1. Fusion Armament for vanilla ultimate then either chaos dragon ritual 2. Any fusion sub monster then either chaos dragon ritual The good part is that you don’t have to play garnets out of the archetype to get there. The bad part is the payoff is decent for negates but the float is next to useless. Your only good targets are a half baked spirit dragon that you can’t reborn OR alt ultimate and that’s about it. Everything else is either just bad or “must be fusion summoned”, and it doesn’t ignore summoning conditions.

Discussion: What are your opinions on Yugioh becoming more anime tropes and waifu oriented with its art direction? In my opinion it’s been a double edged sword. On one hand the artwork we get is objectively high quality and is more unique than just doing crossovers with other IPs. However the prevalence of anime tropes like weirdly sexualized lolis, and generic forgettable protagonist boys, and overly flashy dragon designs feels like Konami gave up on having a unique style in place of appealing to whatever generic cliches are happening in seasonal anime.

@@hi-i-am-atan Perhaps I don't understand the rules all that well, but my quick bit of research indicated the literal opposite, that effects which are activatable in the damage step must explicitly say so. This is a pretty important distinction. If Life Hack can activate in the damage step it straight up wins combat almost every time, and saves your life in every scenario where it doesn't. If it can't activate in the damage step, the best it can ever be is a Negate Attack.

@@dontmisunderstand6041 effects must explicitly mention they are activatable during the damage step UNLESS: a. they alter a monster's statblock directly at fast effect speed ( aka, continuous traps with a continuous effect to boost atk is fine, a trigger effect that modifies atk is delayed until the end of the damage step unless one of the later qualifiers applies; also, reverse trap is a no-go because it modifies stat modifiers, rather than being a stat modifier itself ) b. they are counter trap cards c. they are mandatory d. they can negate the activation of cards or effects ( however, the negating a card's effects isn't included in this ) e. they are trigger effects that activate in response to the owning card specifically being moved to another location or having its battle position changed, _except_ if they specifically perform a normal or fusion summon for some reason. trigger effects that respond to these actions, but can also respond to those actions occurring to other cards, do not count for this f. they could only be activated during the damage step, such as when a monster is destroyed by battle if an effect matches any of these easily remembered and not at all complicated conditions, then congratulations! you can use it during the damage step, unless it says you can't use it during the damage step

Wrong, all the new Ancient Gear cards are absolutely amazing and fix basically 90% of what was wrong with the deck, I can guarantee as someone who has been an AG/Earth Machine main since the GX days that it's going to be a really solid and fun rogue deck. Sucks that we didn't get a new fusion or maybe even some Xyz or links but it's still a good start.
