Juice and Supernatural... It's strange how two of the best freestylers on the planet existed in the same era. Usually talent on that level is once in a lifetime.. Freestyle Fellowship and Eyedea were also cutting edge freestylers as well as Juice and Supernatural, and they all existed in their prime in the same era. It's fascinating if you think about it.

Damn this brings back some good memories. I was a junior in high school when the battle toke place and I still remember hearing through word of mouth the results. Being a huge Juice fan I gave him one of the rounds lol but mad respect to Supernatural. Juice got his respect back the next day on the Wakeup show and put an end to the haters saying he was writing all his rhymes. Ay man, I just wanna say, I found this video randomly 10 years ago when you first uploaded it. Throughout the years I've always came back to this and even showed my friends what true freestyling was all about. I had ZERO idea that this recording even existed, but I have since then loved this because I definitely believe that JUICE was the better freestyler and rapper altogether than Supernatural; and this perfectly demonstrates that. I couldn't find it at first by searching but I saved it to a playlist so I can easily watch it again. It's probably been over 5-6 years since I've seen this last and I randomly remembered it because I was on a rabbit hole of freestyle rap battles today and thought about this extremely rare recording. I'm kinda having a larger than life sorta moment because I'm pretty sure this is such a niche crowd of people that are all watching this that even know the relevancy behind this recording. Even though quite small, It really makes me appreciate the impact it has on my outlook of rap, hip hop and freestyling altogether. Pretty random comment I guess but when i see this video now 10 years later, I still get the same nostalgic feeling I got 10 years ago. I hope this video always stays up. Supernatural won the battle. But Juice definitely out-shined him in this Cypher. They are both super dope freestylers with different strengths & weaknesses. Juice is more intricate with the rhyme scheme and punchlines & Supernatural is better at incorporating what's around him and putting it into the rhyme. He also might be better at rocking a crowd. Just my opinion. They are both incredible though.

I was at the battle when Nat won at the Reseda country club. I snuck in a tape recorder to document history and the very next day(or next week) sway and tech played the entire show, not just that battle, all the performances, in the Wake up Show. I have my tape recorder version and the Sway and tech broadcast versions on cassette still. Lol I was stressing so much on my tape recorder for nothing, Sway and tech kept it hip hop by playing it for all the heads. That battle wasn't close but juice was on fire when they did this the next night. The legendary pharaoh Monch ripped it that night at Reseda, his Rawkus album was hitting hard at the time. I believe I was $15 cover to be there!
