Neither are YAHS chosen people. But u knew that already. Trying to steal your birth right back after you sold it for a bowl of pottage meant your birth right didnt mean anything to u. For that reason is why that unwanted birth right got passed to Jacob.....the socalled African American man and woman aka the children of Israel. If u dont believe me or like it, ask YAH.

I have a lot of respect for Serch. My uncle, who was only a few years older than me and was basically like my big brother, and who had gotten me into Hip-Hop music in the winter of 83/84), loved 3rd Bass and rocked them constantly. Seeing/hearing him gives me nostalgia for 89/90 - which was a very rough 2 years for me, but a time whose magic resonated above all the bullshit.

I believe that story on Hammer, Hammer was harder than everybody gave him credit for and there's other rappers who dealt with Hammer, and the outcome was similar except w/o the contract hit for 50k as serch claimed they were told, hammer being an Oaktown OG was known for some of his beefs in the streets in his earlier years before he became the multi platinum selling artist, but that bullshit story he told about Bushwick bill was very much something he pieced together.

MC Serch is one of the good guys in hip hop. I got alot of respect for this man. Nas should of stuck with this dude I'm sure his career would of skyrocketed.

Next up MC SERCH, Loved. 3rd Bass growing up in the 90’s. So many great groups and artists. Personally now , can’t stand new shit. Use to love to hear grimy beats, samples. I have a lot of respect for him and enjoyed this interview.

As a white kid I was never into 3rd Bass back then. I liked their solo albums way better, especially Here it Comes. That being said, I'm taking everything Serch said with a grain of salt. He's entertaining, true, but there were too many bridges burnt. Makes you wonder. No mentioning of Daddy Rich, nothing about the break-up, the planned reunion, his beef with Pete Nice.

you know, I flip-flopped back and forth on how I felt about 3rd Bass and the Cactus Album after listening to it a few years back, but I've warmed up to it more recently. This interview makes me respect Serch a lot more - I think my perception was kinda tainted from that cringey video he did bout Cultural Appropriation on Buzzfeed or whatever. But this interview is dope, man. Serch is super humble and really reasonable about his place in the world of hip-hop. I respect that he's an older rapper who doesn't have much of that old head mentality - shit, I'm prolly more bitter about current rap than he is, and I ain't even a part of the music world lol. He tells stories really nicely too, dude is easy to listen to. Been bumping the Cactus Album lately while workin on this video essay I'm tryna make and it's great background noise, gets me in that productive mindset.
