1969: the year The Beatles was still together, Neil Armstrong stepped on the Moon, Woodstock Festival happened, Hippie era, the Manson murders, Vietnam War, some of the greatest bands released absolutely masterpieces, Abbey Road, Tommy, Abraxas, Arthur, Led Zeppelin I, Ummagumma, etc. The same year MC5 came from the future to play punk music in a time the future members of The Ramones, Sex Pistols and The Clash were children going to school.

This song is infinitely cooler in a live context. it's a bit too teenage pop on the album but seeing The MC5 play it together, they really pull it together

Because that is just an industry front. John Lydon’s response to the Pistol’s invite sums it up nicely. The best way to honor this band is for individual fans to listen to their music and understand their message and place in history.

I stood in front of Wayne Kramer and asked him. He gave me an answer that nobody, to date accepts. He started the band and has continued it's legacy to this day. Why should HIS words be accepted? No, not Motor City, it is 1 word

Look it up as the cell phone kids say....I witnessed, SAW if you will one of the greatest rock and roll shows of my life time in Peekskill NY at a defundt bowling alley with approx 50 white panther angry teenagers, and at least 100 black panther street kids. The MC5 headlined and the Left Banke warmed up the small crowd. Tyner came out to a full decked out USA flag draped Marshall amps stage and nearly apologized that the crowd was tiny but they were still going to give 100% of a show. THey nearly burned this laughable S hole down for at least 90 mins. Unforgettable.
