I was privy to see them most weekends at the Grande. I also spent some time at their house in A2 when I was merely 15. What a fine time to be alive!

"Ya' know I'm standin' here before you mama soakin' wet you think your satisfied you ain't seen nothing yet I say a wham! bam! thank you ma'm I'm a born hell raiser and I kick out the jams" Detroit romance pick-up lines that worked. Having experienced the five live about a dozen times, from their zenith at the '69 Rock N' Roll Revival to the last, sad show at the Grande Ballroom, I'm here to testify the MC5 were the most exciting band live in the history of western civilization..bar none. Period. When those maniacal minstrels mounted the stage to open a can of sonic beat-down, it was palpable. Wayne & Fred cooked like Crisco as Michael & Dennis held down the rhythm, and Rob sang his fucking heart out. Those motherfuckers were a sight to behold and one hell of a lotta' fun.

Yeah, ahead of their time, for sure. I featured these guys regularly on my radio show when I was DJ'ing in 1969. Then saw them live at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago in December of that year. Snuck a great photo of Wayne Kramer just before the Chicago cops grabbed me by the collar and pulled me off the stage!

@gawagney That is correct! know all about Johnny Ramones Mosrite. He had a Rick 450 like Fred's aswell. I know all the other famous Fred guitars aswell. He is my #1 favorite guitar player of all time. He is just mindblowingly great. I just wonder what guitar he used for this particular song in this particular set. And I wonder if joetoad might remember what it was, since he claims he was there. =) Cheers!
