The root of the problem is that people somehow still don't understand inflation even though it's been a constant for all their lives. If you have a year of 10% inflation, then goods are now permanently 10% more expensive. It sucks, but lowering inflation doesn't magically reverse this and make prices go back down, it just stops them from going up so crazily fast. The inflation was due to something people also should understand - a global pandemic that shut down industries around the world. This happened everywhere, a lot of places have had it worse than we have, and it was unavoidable. And we've recovered from it faster and better than just about anyone in the world (under Biden).

No. They are referring to a candidate who has said he will suspend the constitution, set the military on his opponents, pardon insurrectionists and vandals from January 6th, be a dictator on (he means from) day one, weaponise the justice system to exact revenge against all who opposed him in the past, amongst other things that dictators do.
