Great video, thanks for uploading. Ill add a 6-10 to the collection one day and definitely refer back to this for guidance at that time. I'm currently tinkering with a 7-10A with a snapped off rusty muffler bolt. Helpful to see you braising repairs on the muffler to as the 7-10 muffler I have has some holes in it.

E4RTH5T4R - glad it was helpful - I've got a couple 7-10s that I'll be working on this fall.

Were the crank seals for that press in type? I've got my eye on a few pro mac 700s and I like fresh seals on saws I plan to actually run at some point and do work with. Sure like press in seals vs. having to take engine apart and totally reseal.

I've never press fit new seals on these saws. The larger seal on the flywheel side could probably be press fit. However, the seal on the clutch side is pretty fragile and don't think sturdy enough for a press fit. Good luck with your saws. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@elwellboy Thanks for the info. I might be searching for some seals for a pro mac 700 soon here.

@@aeridyne I believe I posted in one of my videos the numbers for the seals. Here they are - CR Services #6120 (flywheel side) Federal Mogul #471551 (clutch side). Your supplier should be able to cross reference to other brands. If you can't find them let me know. Good luck.

@@elwellboy Ok, I saw that on one of your 10 series saws I think, I didn't know they still used the same seals on the 700s. Thanks!

Can u show video how to install and set points on this saw. Thanks
@elwellboy7 жыл бұрын
On this saw I used an electronic chip so no need for points. I'll be doing some 7-10 rebuilds after the holidays so will try to include a video of setting the points then. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching. Appreciate your comments.

elwellboy i am aware of that. Still need to know how to set points. How many magnets are on your flywheel. Will this chip work. With 3 magnet flywheel

Michael Devine - the points on this saw should be set at 26 degrees before TDC. If you can’t get an exact reading - set your points at .015 with the crankshaft lobe at the highest point - you’ll be pretty close. I don’t have one right now but believe these 10 series saws are 2 magnet flywheels - I buy the chips on amazon for about $10 and they work great - hope this helps.
