Just came across this video looking for info on my saw and was interested in finding out if my McCulloch saw was worth repairing. You mentioned that that the one you were working on hadn't been started in 12 months. Mine, much closer to 12 years. To be honest, I was shocked mine started. But only ran for about 10 seconds. I'm older and hopefully a little wiser now. You are spot on about winterizing and maintaining during the off season.

Always run the risk in doing that I’m afraid. Could fire but there’s a possibility it won’t then subsequently you have unnecessary & avoidable works..... cheers mate. Take care. 👍🏻

I think I’m going to have to go down that route mate as I seem to be getting more 2-strokes come in. I’d usually just order parts in as & when necessary but like you say it’s no doubt more financially viable sticking in bulk. Hope you’re well my friend. Take care 👍🏻

I like the way you made your introduction mate. Cool looking good mate. Old mcculoch chain saw that filter was full of muck. I have seen a few of them get like that with bits of saw dust inside the tank normally people who don't care about the machine they just buy a new one when it breaks.👍

Do they use ethanol mixed fuel (e.g. E10 or E15) where you live? Chainsaw tanks always get saw dust in them and no one bothers to flush it out.
