I bought a 610 at a Auction Yesterday. Appears to be a barely used saw. Didnt need anything except fresh gas to start and run. Even cut a bit of wood and the chain is still sharp, First 610 I ever used. Only thing someone took off the chain brake. However I have a junk 610 that has the chain brake. Now its a great saw, But I dont get along well with plastic saws and vibration isolation or roller tip bars. We made and posted a U Tube Video of it today.

nice saw, i got two of that series..."like an american muscle car" power with 60+ cc, ; I like the manual oil pump to use pre starting to oil the chain

Have one of those, showing much more usage but runs great. Bit heavy and chunky, but strong saws. 650 slightly more powerful, same saws otherwise.

sounds like a governed carb problem rob. have a look at the carb and see if theirs a brass screw loctited in it, that brass screw is the governor. remove the governor and bypass it using a ball bearing dropped in the whole and re-fit governor or you can use small peaces of a drinks can to block the journal and then refit the governor.

Sounds like the low jet is a little lean. I would open it up until that bog goes away when you blip the throttle.

How would a pro mac 610 compare to a old pioneer 1073? I have the choice to buy either. Need a bigger saw I can use everyday as I dont want to beat up my stihl 08s I got from my grandpa which got it from my great grandfather. I also noticed the pioneer 1073 mustve been a rental tool they barely used as it's super clean and has a rental sticker on it.
