McDonald Steel and surronding property trains Drone Girard Youngstown Ohio

This video is aerial footage around McDonald Steel and surrounding properties in McDonald, Ohio. There are locomotives (not owned by McDonald Steel) parked of many colors as well as a moving train. The steel facility is a pleasant view. The footage was recorded during the fall (October 16, 2016) so, there are some foliage colors to endure. Sit back, relax and enjoy your flight and the music.

Wow! I worked nearby at the Lordstown Assembly plant for 4 months (back in 2004). I wish I would have known this was near. That said, always sad to see a facility shuddered. All the jobs, families and communities affected. Great vid!!!

I did try this mission today. WX bad, winds at altitude about 15 25G, very low clouds. The P4P completed it, but the Mavic pro struggled on the return. I will try again on the next nice calm day.

Phil Prosser Interesting. Please report back. I recorded this mission with my Phantom 4 standard which I’ve since sold. I’ve had a Mavic Pro Platinum since November 2017. I’m hoping DJI improves its camera on the Mavic 2 Pro. Once they do, I’ll possibly move to it. At present time, I’ve read the P4P camera is superior. I don’t want another Phantom as with that design I’ve experienced a few stress cracks. I do miss the power of the Phantom motors.

I really had to push the saturation to get any color as it was an awful day. You can see where the bird is fighting the wind on the trip back. This is also inferior resolution. Phil Prosser The Mavic camera field of view is narrower so the footage may appear to be closer and not as full. Would be interesting to see.

Phil Prosser Drone video shot in the winter months lacks color. Lots of gray and white. Not much you can do about that. One thing I’m getting better with is filming in manual instead of auto. When flying in manual I try to get the right filter and shutter speed and then stay with it as best possible the entire flight. When I do this the footage comes out much more crisp. Most of my videos published were in auto. Going forward I’ll record in manual. Very interesting seeing what the McDonald Steel grounds look like 2 years later. It took me 4 months of Saturday and Sunday very early mornings to get and perfect the angles I was seeking. Keep sharing!

Drone recording this video was the DJI Phantom 4 Standard. Not the Pro version. I always liked its camera. I’ve long since sold the drone and have missed it ever since.

I don’t know. I’d guess you’d need to contact McDonald Steel in Girard Ohio for starters. It may be their property. Plus I don’t know if the grounds look the same today as to when this video was recorded 6 plus years ago. Thank you for watching and inquiring.

The launch point was from the former Creekside Golf Dome parking lot in Girard on Route 422. I hope that answered your question.

Really nothing it’s called Larry’s truck and electric they buy All kinda of old unused engines for different companies it’s located in McDonald Ohio and one in Lordstown Ohio Along the New Castle subdivision

I love classical music, it doesn't fare well with a tremendous amount of videos, just like pop/rap/doo-wop/jazz doesn't with so many. Picking music for vids is the hardest part of video editing, most spend days looking for it, some take a shortcut!
