The Å letter, you can say "Awe" siden. Btw. gas powered cars are not banned, but lower taxes on EV makes them sell much better. So close to 90% of new cars sold in 2024 was pure electric.

As a Norwegian I couldn't have guessed the indoor photos either. The other ones was easy. The second one I have eaten in several times. Beside it was a clothes outlet that was great but now sadly gone. Another idea is churches of Norway. Or other countries.

In Norway, regular plates are white with black characters, however, cars with front seats only (used for carrying goods) have green plates with black characters. Norwegian registration plates are made of metal, but flat plastic has been used for earlier plates.

Finally I could guess some of the locations NMPZ and No Move again. I've not been to any of the locations, but I know Vestkanten quite well and I recognised the last one in Bergen as well. The last one is quite famous as they were very restricted in their signage, so they only have a small McDonald's sign, in a black letters and a different font than their normal signs. 10:41 The restaurant you mentioned is also quite famous. You can only get there by boat or helicopter. It was the inspiration of the film The Menu, starring Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Cars with green plates have only 2 or 3 seats and are cheaper to buy/register, less tax! its mostly used by companies. Or work

My game went like yours. I clicked those photospheres to wrong cities and failed. Fun fact: The northernmost McDonalds in the World is now in Tromsø, Norway. It was opened last year. The northernmost one was in Murmansk, Russia for a long time, but in 2022 McD quit Russia and after that the northernmost was in Rovaniemi, Finland until the one in Tromsø was opened.

3:00 I've been to this McDonald's. In October, I s̶m̶u̶g̶g̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶ accidentally forgot to throw away my extra plastic straws from the O'Hare Dunkin and used one to try a Frappe from this McDonald's since you can only get paper straws in Norway. It was pretty good! Åssiden is pronounced oh-see-den, but the D and E sounds are very quick, so it's more like oh-see-d'n. Locals sometimes call it Åssia (oh-see-uh) as a nickname.

8:30 About gas powered cars in Norway: sale of new gas cars won't be forbidden in 2025, but the government have had a goal for many years that by 2025 all new sales should be electric vehicles. In 2024 above 90% of new car sales was electric and this was the first year that the number of registered EVs passed the number of gas powered cars on the road. EVs are still more expensive but when comparing gas prices to electricity then EVs wins hands down. Service costs is also cheaper. Gas prices in Norway (and most European countries) are much higher that in the US. More than double.

The green plates are fairly flexible, they can be for a van, pickup truck, SUV ( like a Suburban or Tahoe) even a hatchback or a station wagon. The main requirement is that it has no back seats. So let's say you buy a 4 door Ford F150, remove the back seats, now your F150 is van. Put the seats back in, reregister it, now it is a passenger vehicle. But the road tax is now much higher. You could also do this with any station wagon, sedan, etc, remove the back seats, now it's a van. You get green plates. As for gasoline or diesel cars, you can still buy them. But it's cheaper for most to buy an EV, so that's what they do now. And then Pizza: there are some chains in Norway, Dolly Dimples, though that is mostly gone, replaced by Bankers, Peppe's Pizza, Pizzabakeren, and Dominos.

1. Green plates are registered as "commercial van". it has only 1 row of seats and usually have a metal wall seperating the front seats from the cargo area. the vehicle also needs to be able to fit a box thats 140cm x 90cm x 105cm in the boot when seats are removed or in truck bed to qualify for green plates. cars with green plates have less purchase tax making them cheaper than the regular version. often youll see expensive porsche SUVs and Mercedes G wagons with green plates. in the 80s before they added the box as one of the requirements, you could have porsche 911s and ferraris on green plates. making them cheaper so regular people could afford them. ones cars on green plates reach 20 years old they can then have their rear seats fitted back on and be registered on white plates again without extra cost. so most of these are now back on white plates. 2. You can still buy gas powered cars. its never going to be banned. although these are much more expensive now with all the extra taxes added to them, and most dealerships from 2025 only sells new EVs so you have to go out of your way to find a new gas vehicle unless you import from other countries. so in the end gas cars are taxed out the wazoo, so maybe in a few years only the rich will drive new gas powered cars. would be funny to think if that will become some sort of status symbol in the future. right now youll get weird looks from people if you do buy a new gas powered vehicle.

@@alloverthemap23 they do lose about 17% range in the winter however its about same as gas powered vehicles. i drive a vw id7 and personally i find it easier to start the car in the morning than my old diesel daily. i also have a nissan leaf from 2012 and apart from doors thats frozen shut and more range loss compared to my newer car. they do just fine, just make sure your small 12v battery is in good condition. usually about -18°C (-1°F) where i live although this winter has been quite warm -4°C and its my id7's first winter so haven't really gotten the chance to stress test it. my friends who went electric before me haven't had problems either.

You're probably wrong in your analysis of how the fifth location came about. You can see how cramped it looks indoors, and it looks like a traditional wooden post in the middle of the customer area. This is a rather famous McDonalds's location, being located in a very beautiful 18th century building in the middle of the touristy part of Bergen. Tourists are often photographing it from the outside because it looks so adorable. It's one of those cases where "if you know, you know". But I agree about the 3rd location happening in the way you outlined for the 5th location.

You could check out the city of Sandefjord where I live. We're a port city with a ferry that goes to Sweden several times a day, most people who live here get free tickets via connections to travel to Sweden, although it costs next to nothing anyway. Or, you could just go to Hell. Yes thats an actual town 😅

My game went about the same. Three fairly easy rounds, and 2 where I just had to guess. On the third round I tried to find a restaurant with that name from some of the bigger cities, but just couldn't find it. Guessed Oslo there and Fredrikstad on the last one. Lost about 30 points on you.

You really need to do something rural in Norway so you get to see the beautiful scenery. Mc Donalds is never located in beautiful locations. Try "Bridges of Norway" or anything rural. REMA 1000 could be could since REMA 1000 is abslotule everywhere. Gives you a lot more variety than McDonalds.
