I the movie, Gunner Stahl was the star for Iceland and the leading scorer. The ducks play iceland in the finals and it comes down to a penalty shot for him, and the ducks put in a cold goalie who has an amazing glove. He comes inand takes a slapshot glove side, goalie saves it, everyone's happy. So the joke was why didn't he just go blocker side.
