Love this! I've always wanted to do acrylic pours, but knew I couldn't handle all the waste that goes with them. So now I know what to do! My plan is to use a large canvas for the pour, then at least 2 dips in it for 3 paintings out of 1 pour and almost no waste! :D

Don’t make the bottom a cereal box. Use a larger fresh canvas instead. When you are finished dipping, move - toss what ever you call it, that larger bottom canvas, torch it. You will have the best painting of them all and it won’t be on the inside of a cereal box.

I love watching these pours and techniques... I have noticed that some artists save the "skins" under the pours to make jewelry...so that not all is wasted...I think some add epoxy to the skins once the shape is constructed...while others cut the skins with underlying paper and add some polyurethane for strength and protection...pendants..earrings...pins.. bracelets

wow, I am totally impressed with this procedure, wonderful colors and patterns. Love love!! Do the cells only show up when heat applied?
@melamiller14123 жыл бұрын
The cells normally happen because of the mediums and the silicone oils used in the paints so when the heat is added to pop the bubbles that naturally form in paint,when they pop they hold there form and create the beautiful cells many times without the mediums and silicone using heat to pop the bubbles will not create cell it will just smooth out the color that the bubble is or will sometime create what many call mud which is a mix of the colors and is grey's, dull greens and brown's which can take away from the brilliance one is expecting from a pour, though some people like that look as well, it's all in the eye of the beholder!!!!

This is amazing, I would love to do this but not sure where to start, I love to do crafts. What is it you are spraying on the canvas after you have put the paint on the canvas. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have subscribed. Could you please give me a list of supplies needed. Thank you

Hi Barb, First step is to mix your paints, this is a video about how I mix mine: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYu3oZWbf8tqfLM Then I flicked silicone on, dipped then used a flame torch to bring up the cells.

These turned out beautiful 💞 I was hoping you did dips on what you left on the cardboard... seems such a waste to leave such beauty behind 😂 love them seriously

Thank you Krystal. I loved it so much I would prefer it to be as a whole :)

DK if you or someone has thought of this already. But, I suggest putting the paint initially on another canvas before you do the dipped canvas. Let both dry, and, you'll have two kinda matching paintings - more if you have enough paint to make them. 👍. I also suggest not using silicone, cause, I liked it a little better before the "cells" popped up in it after you dipped it. I have been wondering if such a method would work - now I know it will. TY for sharing.

Thank you yes I have done that in another video and ended up with 4, they will never be identical though as the cells come up differently :)

@@McEArt Hello - After watching your video a few more times, I am liking the cells which show up after your using the silicone. There are many different colors in each of those cells which become more apparent with each time I watch it. I do appreciate your instructions. 😻

Can you explain the blow torch thing please? The purpose? What else it can do? Sorry very new to this 😘
@McEArt5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tami, the torch assists to pop air bubble but also slight warms the paint to invite the silicone oil to rise to the surface creating the cells.

Okay you’ve more than peaked my interest. Fist video of this I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen and done some floating ink and “dipped” paper long ago..... I love canvases with paint it’s instant art for the wall ... I’ve always bought craft paint and canvas frames and boards for my daughter. She’s made many for family and some teachers. My tip for hanging canvas board it a pop can tab hot glued centered in the back... I always have to ask my daughter which end is up. Now to research your paint (mixes) and how to make the awesome cells happen I love the wet paint look. I’d love to preserve that look after its dry. How long does it take for your piece to completely dry/set ?

Hi Cindy and welcome! I love the Pop Can tab idea!! Wow that is cool!! Once varnished or resined the wet look will come back and make it pop again!
