I spend the holidays with my MAGA family. Watching Yellowstone has been the family tradition the last three years. The main antagonist for all 5 seasons is the general concept of California. To be fair to Travis, half the run time is dedicated to scenes that have nothing to do with anything, and yet are somehow intrinsic to the spirit of the show. SPOILERS for the cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 or 3: My favorite comedic moment is when John Dutton stops on the side of a highway to help a mother and her child change a tire. After helping, the mother offers to pay John for his services. By offering to pay, John knows she must be from California because, obviously, Californians only offer aid with the expectation of payment. John then proceeds to explain that, in Montana, aid is given freely. Then a van pulls up with armed men who shoot John. The mother is killed in the crossfire in front of her son. I don’t know if the juxtaposition of the lecture on Montana moral superiority with rural gun violence was intentional comedy, but it made me laugh.

oh my god i would have keeled over laughing if i saw that scene played out in real time.

Absolutely crying with laughter over Travis' commitment to the report and how utterly terrible Yellowstone sounds. I forget until weeks like this that there are so many fans who came to the brothers through Polygon or even TAZ rather than from early MBMBaM and may not quite get that doubling down on insane and sometimes painful bits is 100% on brand for them.
