The shading is surprisingly well done (at least compared to what we usually get from mcfarlane or hasbro) and does a pretty good job hiding the fact that the figure is basically unsculpted.

You can say a lot about McFarlane , but he isn't afraid to try new things. I thought I liked gray and black more, but I am spending more time with the blue and black. The odd thing is when Todd uses a light blue and grey. I like a dark blue and light grey.

I'm still debating whether or not I want any of the Task Force figures. In my opinion, Batman and Aquaman look alright. The rest...not so much. I'm curious if McFarlane will also release the rest of the characters from the game. I love the solid black look on Batman. That's my 2nd favorite color scheme for the Batsuit. But I'd have to say the blue and gray is my number one favorite.

I havent been crazy about this body but the paint really does wonders. I dont think Id want a darker Batman, but all the highlights emphasizing the muscles is perfect. I wish all the cel shading attempts had this approach just unpixelated. Miles better than any Hasbro have done

They nailed the sega game sprite shading in my opinion. When I saw the blurry leak images I knew exactly what he was supposed to be from. I love homage figures like these and the neca nes batman. It's niche and probably not ideal for retail but I'm so glad they went for it

I think the gold label Hal Jordan with the metallic green is very clean, only issue with the green imo is the ankle balls are just green plastic.

If the paint apps were normal and not pixelated i think this one might be one of the best standard batmen ever especially at this price range, you're getting a basically better knightfall (not counting the head.) QOTD: for me its the less common black and blue colors, shadow of the bat and troika use this combination somewhat inconsistently

You know, I was going to skip this wave, but I feel obligated to at least get Batman. I have a soft spot for video game appearance figures, NECA used to do it all the time but I think Sega Goliath was the last one? Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing more of this from McFarlane. QOTD: I usually prefer black & gray because of the Animated Series (same for the logo) but the all black is more nostalgia because of Keaton and Bale. If I was on board with MFT, I would have picked it up. The head however is definitely subpar. Also, as a Canadian, your imitation made me laugh so 9/10. ;-)

QOTD: I'm usually a grey and black kinda guy when it comes to my Batman preference. However, I think ultimately my favourite is grey and dark/navy blue with the solid black bat symbol. The way he looked in Batman: Hush.

I'm not the biggest fan of McFarlane Toys, but I do agree the extra paint looks good; it helps bring out the muscular detail that, I believe, is typically lacking in their sculpts. That face sculpt is still horrible though.

Interesting review because I’m guessing you didn’t remember but this is a repaint of the Batman from the Batman/Bane two pack a while back. I know you didn’t like the paint job on the two pack Batman, I like the paint on both but I feel like the lips look weird. I didn’t have a problem getting the legs to go straight out at a right angle, I think the diaper has a lot of give so I wouldn’t recommend cutting it. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

Hey Anthony, you HAVE to review the reissue of the Flash figure, “speed force Flash”, if you’re able to obtain a copy. It’s unfortunately a “platinum”, and I hate the business practice so much, but it’s the first DC Multiverse figure I’ve dealt with that has a different kind of ratchety ankle joints. There’s like at least 20 notches in each ankle, and I’m very happy to see this progression. If they continue to use ankles like these, it’ll help these figures stand SO MUCH BETTER. Just curious what your take on them would be. Thanks!

Qs of the Day: When it comes to Batman, I’m a gray and dark blue fan, and although I grew up in the Bronze Age, I prefer the plain black bat. As for McFarlane, I feel like the thought of making a “plain” action figure that perfectly captures the character bores him to tears. He always has to find a way to “funkily” his figures, whether it’s added sculpted details and textures, selecting obscure/alternate versions that appeared in one story arc, the metallic paint and pixelated details we see here…it’s always something. Without the metallic paint and pixelation, I’d buy a full set, but as it stands, I’m going to pass. That’s just my personal preference though. I’m not an artist, so I don’t do funky.

Idk man I like Black on Black Batman. I know I’m bias because Keaton 89 Batman was my original exposure To Batman but I love that dark Dark Batman, all business Batman.lightly Armor ( Arkham Knight Batman ) and OJ Conroy BTAS are also in my top Designs.

What bothers me about McFarlane Toys is that they used a lot of paint apps on figures back in the early 2000s and they used to be around $25-$30 so I don’t know why the company continues to skimp out on adding paint to their figures when it was possible back then..

I hear what you're saying but I just can't... the symbol and that face looks awful! If they do a re-relesse with 'regular' paint I would be tempted to buy at least The Flash. That being said I reckon the chances of this wave peg-warming and going for sale are good and if they do I might reconsider. For a very discounted low price I might be willing to get the whole wave and replace those symbols with vinyl ones that look normal. Or at least The Flash cause I really don't know what to do with those faces on Batman and Superman and that Revlon hair on Aquaman...
